All in all, a very good choice, if you want to be centrally located in Kyoto. Close to the main shopping street and some of the numerous hotels. Also in walking distance to the Shinkansen train station. Try to get a room facing the back, as there is a six lane street in front of the hotel! more

Nice location. Decent size rooms with amenities - robe, slippers, ethernet internet address. And best of all - public bath on the 13th floor. No breakfast included, but coffee shops, convenience stores, McDonald's within a block, as is the subway line. Nice place more

*Location and Access : The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Gojo Subway station (one stop on the Karasuma Line to Kyoto main Station). Walking time to Kyoto main railway station 15-20 minutes. Off street parking available. In the local area are several convenience stores, a few restaurants and cafes. Generally a quiet area.*Google Earth Reference: It is possible... more

We organinsed our own trip to kyoto and this was the cheapest hotel we could find for 5 nights in Cherry blossom and Geisha concert season. a not so reasonable £170 pounds per night (room only), If you know you are going to kyoto without a tour, book early and look at the local chains which may have more reasonable... more

Found this hotel perfectly acceptable for a mid range stay in Kyoto. Lots of polarising reviews here, which was a surprise to me. In my experience if you are looking for mid-range or budget in Japan then you are NOT going to get a huge room and LOTS of drawer/hanging space, This grade of hotel tends to mean functional rooms,... more

We had originally booked another hotel but a few days before arriving, decided we wanted to stay a little closer to the station. When arriving at the JR station, information told us how to get to the hotel, which was only one subway station away. The front desk spoke broken English but we were checked in rather quickly. The room,... more

Kyoto was surprisingly full during our stay Apr 3 - 6 and we ended up booking Aranvert DELUXE double rooms. Paid a hefty premium, and am sad to say we were not impressed at all. Upon arrival at the hotel via cab from KYOTO JR STATION (abt 5-10 mins cab ride), it looked grand enough, the lobby. But we were... more

Considering how overprised and overrated everything in Kyoto is, this hotel delivers for exactly how much we paid. 200$ per night in high season seemed to be reasonable ( cherry blossom season, everything else was booked)/ Rooms are small. Bathroom had someones's hairs. Cheap toiletries - ( we survived on what we had brought with us). NO international TV channels.... more

I just spent four nights at Aranvert Hotel Kyoto, and I really enjoyed my stay there. I would definitely go back again. I was able to get a good deal because I was with a conference (single room + breakfast for $90/night). Pros: * Heated seat and bidet in the bathroom. Nice deep tub. Great water pressure in the shower.... more

Kyoto was practically booked when we arrived. We found this place online on some booking site. It was about $150/night. The hotel was clean, nothing special for a business hotel. The Japanese shower upstairs is a small bonus, if you are up for the task. The staff were great. But, I am trying to figure out if it was more... more
