We stayed here for 5 nights as part of an OAT's trip originating in the United States. We were told that OAT's had recently added this hotel to their roster due to an increase in number of travelers. The hotel has a good location to many sights that a tourist might want to see including the Kamo River which is... More

The hotel is modern, clean and everything in the room was in working condition. You need a network cable to connect to the internet and the hotel loaned one to me. The breakfast was delicious, it was well worth the extra $10 or so that they charged me. It comprised of both Japanese western options in a beautifully set buffet.... More

Well situated, accessible hotel, near main train station and main subway line. Service is curteous although staff is just about multilingual apart for well known phrases and wordings. Thats maybe why tourist maps are handed and handy. Beds are of decent size compare to most japanese accommodation and comfortable enough to sleep, the front street is also quiet with minimum... More

Hotel close to the main station (10 min walking) and close to the city center. WiFi only in the lobby wich makes the rating lower. The have a nice compementary spa on the top floor with a wounderful view over the city. Close to metro station and busses to go to the major sites.

Pros: good location (close to train subway, bus and centre), nice staff, decent bathroom Cons: no wifi except in the lobby (and even then only if there are less than 5 people using it), multiple stains on the carpet, rock hard bed, worn and dated furniture and fittings, pay per view tv only (no free channels), no breakfast included in... Good value hotel, featuring public bath on the top floor. All neat and tidy with basic English staff on board makes this a pleasant stay. Traffic noise can be a little loud if your room faces gojo dori and also just be aware that the bus line out front is infrequent, in fact it's not even shown on the Kyoto... More

We booked this place last minute and needed a place that had a Triple Room. The staff was very friendly, location was in the newer part of Kyoto and not terribly far from Kyoto station. There is no Wifi in the Rooms and sometimes it doesn't work in the lobby. The room were dated but fine, it was a great... More

Stayed there for a few nights whilst in Kyoto this autumn. Hotel ist 1-2 walking minutes away from Karasuma-Line Station "Gojo", which is nice, because 1) you are connect right at your hotel and 2) this is just 1 station away from the Kyoto Station, where you can connect to all the JR-Lines/Shinkansen and all of the Bus-lines. There are... More

The breakfast buffet is one more example that Japan westernizes more and more. This trend is not nice. Finally, I ended up with some western breakfast items (fruits and yoghurt), because the japanese misou soup was only available conterminated with either (1) fish or (2) chicken. In Japan, I want to enjoy Japanese cousine, but for vegetarians, there was no... More

We loved our stay at the Aranvert Hotel. The staff were so lovely! Our room had a nice thick carpet and was similar to how my grandparent's house was decorated. A funny explanation I know but I guess it's kind of 50's 60's style. A bit like the old James Bond films! Very comfortable, a few nice little gadgets and... More
