We went during the Gion Matsuri, so all hotels were very overpriced for that month. The location was brilliant, perfect walking distance from lots of things. The hotel itself was fine, VERY small room and pretty cramped, and the bed was too small. But the hotel had lots of useful amenities, like washing machines we could use. I recommend this... More

Good, nothing to complain if you get a bigger room. The hotel is very close to a subway station. You can even walk to the downtown of Kyoto. But there is no bus stop near the hotel. It takes more time if you want to see the ancient temples in Kyoto.

stayed for 3 nights to explore kyoto and the hotel did not disappoint, a gem at the price perfectly located to explore the river area and the traditional geisha district on foot, and also 3 minutes away from the subway with only a few stops to kyoto central station to catch the shinhanzen to tokyo. the tourist buses also stop... I didn't enjoy my stay here at all. - Everything at the lobby restaurant is below average and well over priced. - Terrible mattress and hard pillows (I asked reception for more and they said there were none left in the hotel...) - Reception staff are rude and Unhelpful, I asked to rent a bike for the day at 8... First off, the location is amazing as it is near Karasuma Oike station, I can't remember which exit is nearest to the hotel but you can always ask the station master. The room is comfortable, it is compact but still decent sized. Friendly staff, helped me to call for taxi few times. Was rushing upon checking out and left few... More

The hotel is near the Karasuma Oike subway station and Nijo Castle. We arrived in Kyoto from Osaka via train so we walked to the hotel with our trolley luggage. We booked an overnight stay and which was quite comfortable. Our room and bathroom was compact, by this I mean the bed and dresser are about 2 feet apart and... More

Hotel room was good value for our overnight stay. The room was tiny and we had struggled to open two suitcases at the same time without blocking walkways. Storage of all of our bags was difficult with tight spaces/layout and the wardrobe only fitted two outfits (no bags/backpacks). Pros: - Good value for over night ( would not stay here... More

Approaching the hotel in a taxi I felt it was quite far away from Kyoto station however the hotel is just off the main road to Kyoto station so I walked in the next day, was about a 20 minute walk but was great as there are many restaurants to see on the way. You can also take the subway... More

we had a 3 bed room with a view into the courtyard. The window could be opened and let in fresh air. As there was no major road infront or behind the hotel in was very quite. The beds were very good. The 3rd bed was just as big as the two main beds. The bath was typical japanese but... More

We stayed in 6 different cities during 15 days stay in japan, the bed is the worst we had, mattress is lumpy, thin nd no support and we can't get good rest for three nights. We request a non-smoking room but the front desk claim we did not request so, so if you absolutely need one, you need to consider... More
