The hotel is in a good location and friendly. The room was nice, maybe not quite as smart and modern as it could have been but big. It's a shame smoking is allowed in some areas. The breakfast was good with queues sometimes but not a long wait. Just fine.

We stayed here as 6 friends in 3 rooms. The twin rooms are spacious and well appointed but a little dated. The hotel is pretty central and the reception sell train and bus tickets and really friendly. Would recommend for the price.

The Hearton is definitely convenient location wise, the subway is right at your doorstep with a quick ride into the city. It is not far to walk to great restaurants or the main shopping district, the buses are also close by to take you to the various attractions. The rooms were clean and tidy, we were moved from a smoking... More

I stayed at Hearton Hotel Kyoto at the peak of the cherry blossom season. Hotels in the city were fully booked and I just took a chance with this hotel. It's located in a straight after the Northeast exit of the Karasuma-oike station. A subway line in Kyoto (not covered by the JR rail pass) but it's just 3 stations... More

This is a great hotel. Good rooms. Large restaurant area. Breakfast buffet had a lot of choices. Location is good - it is a short walk from the subway - the KarasumaOike station. The concierge folks were not that knowledgeable, or maybe they had issues with English. Not sure. A good mid-range hotel to stay in Kyoto. As far as... More

We stayed at the Hearton as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel tour. The location was good and the room and amenities were very satisfactory. The western style breakfast buffet on the main floor got pretty crowded, with all the tour groups -- so we really enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast one floor up. I also liked the coin op... More

The rooms are large by Japanese standards but smaller than American or Asian standards. However, the room is more than adequate if you're spending most of your day outside the room. The bathroom was very clean and the room had all the necessary amenities i.e. hairdryer, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, in-house radio, and TV. The air-conditioning can be adjusted and... The rate of this hotel is 3 stars but for a business hotel is great compared to others I've been, a good option with service above the average , located near the nishiki market and with a clear westernized style for the restaurants, something useful in Kyoto , staff can speak English.

They are very unfriendly. The stuff were just looking at us when we loading off the luggages. They let us carry all the luggages and bags by ourselves without helping. 3 guys stand there with nothing to do. Dont even wanna serve you at all. The parking guy doesnt speak english. Very hard to communicate. I will never go back... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at this wonderful little hotel during our trip to Japan last September. We booked it based on the great price and what we suspected was a great location. We were not disappointed!! The location is great, its about a 2 minute walk away from Karasumaoike station (Exit 1). It is also about a 15-25 min... More
