We had this booked via our travel agent and although not a ryokan which might be a better experience (we will see as we are staying in some soon) it is a nice place to stay. Rooms reasonable size, clean, wifi, good bathroom comfortable beds. Breakfast is excellent better than most hotels, japanese and western style. Walking distance to many... More

We paid for breakfast through the website much more than the price at the hotel and no one of the staff wanted to help us. We tried to talk with the staff several times but they pretend as if they do not understand.

The quality of this hotel is standard of Hearton chain, which is nice one, locates on Oike street which is just 5 minutes walk to the popular shopping area like Teramachi shopping arcade, Nishiki market. But what best for me is that they offer a free bike rental for hotel guest; forget about J Cycle or other bike rental shop... More

Room was very nice, clean, obviously recently upgraded. Not sure about the poor reviews from others, our room was fine, spacious by Japanese standards. They do only give one key and they do not allow early check-in but they will store your luggage and it will be waiting for you in your room when you get back from sightseeing. There was... More

I stayed for 3 nights as part of a longer holiday and, while clean and in a decent location, the hotel had very little else going for it. Although I'm used to small rooms, especially in Japan, mine didn't even have room for a cupboard: just a 50cm open alcove by the door. It looked like my room hadn't been... More

I stayed here for 4 nights. While the lobby led me to expect a nice, perhaps somewhat upper-scale hotel, the rooms and the rest of the hotel was a bog standard, lower end, Japanese hotel. The room was very tiny and seemed to not have had an update for a number of years. There were basically no amenities in the... More

I was surprised by all the positive reviews and felt compelled to explain my recent experience. Overall the visit wasn't terrible, but I was surprised at how unfriendly the staff were upon check-in. We arrived at 1:11pm and asked to check-in and the staff rudely insisted we cannot check-in until 2pm. They were not friendly nor welcoming and I believe... More

The location is good provided you don't mind walking - Tokyo's attractions are very distributed with even the main city center attractions (Nijo Castle, Imperial Palace, Gion, Nishiki Market) are all 15-20 minutes walk from each other so no hotel is close to everything. For the central attractions Nishiki is pretty close but everything else is at least a 20... More
