The hotel is located at a greay location near Gion. It is also very near to the bus (takes you directly to most of the major attractions) and train stations. The room was spotless and spacious too. The staff were also polite and friendly. They also provided a free gift for the new year. There was free wifi in the... More

Stayed one night in November 2014. This is a perfectly fine hotel in a good location. The facilities are up to and perhaps even above the standard you would expect for the price. The location is amazing, its right in the centre of action in Kyoto. After staying in Western Kyoto (near the bamboo groves) the previous night, this was... More

Great location, near lots of restaurants and the Sanjo train station. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable - service was great and helpful, free Wifi was available. The hotel breakfast needed work, very meager and basic. The staff booked an geisha experience for us which was great, and we really enjoyed our stay!

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone as its a fantastic hotel. We were initially put up in a double room on the top floor that was simply too small. However, on informing the friendly staff the next day, we were moved into another room for the reminder of our stay, which was great. The hotel is... More

Stayed one night December 2014. Very easy to get to, from JR Kyoto station, a short subway trip to Kurosama and then change to Sanjo Keihan. We had Pasmo cards, so didn't need to buy tickets, just tap on and off, great system. English speaking staff were excellent, we arrived a little early, they stored our bags while we went... More

We loved the location and staff at the hotel. The subway station is a few steps away. Getting their from Kansai Airport is a little tricky if it's your first time in Japan. We found the easiest and least expensive way was: Haruka line to Kyoto Station on JR (Japan Rail). Then take the subway: to Kurosama (Kurosama line) then... More

Some recent TA reviews have been a bit over the top with the Hana Hotel. It does have a great location in the Gion area (where else would you be if staying in Kyoto?). It does have excellent staff who go out of their way to assist. The introductory 'select your bath salts' ceremony was quaint if not very useful.... More

We'd stayed at Kyoto Hana Hotel for 5 night at the end of July. The hotel is very close to the Sanyo Keihan subway station. There're 2 supermarkets which are very near also. We did our breakfast shopping from them mostly. Also a Starbucks is in 5 minutes walking distance. You can also have breakfast there if you don't have... More

You will love this place if you have your expectations in the right place. This is not a big fancy chain hotel. It is a small hotel, a fantastic value!! It is clean and the staff are fantastic. I got a theme room. The room had a balcony overlooking the city. Everything was small, but this is Japan so you... More

My friend and I stayed at Kyoto Hana Hotel in October 2014 for 2 nights. Kyoto Hana Hotel is located in Higashiyama in Kyoto. It is within walking distance to the Kamo River, the Pontocho district and Gion. The closest metro station is Sanjo and less than a minute away ( EXIT 1 – as the Sanjo station is a... More
