I had a second-floor smoking room above a garage. This meant that I was woken up around 7AM by the noise of staff arriving, on both mornings. The smoking room (I'm a non-smoker) smelled. Other than that, the location.

I spent a night in this hotel with my wife during the season of the cherry blossoms (Kyoto is simply magnificent during that time). I have not much to complain about but the price, which was way too high for what we got (more than 400$, no breakfast included). Service was good, room was ok (not particularly great). The location... More

As with all hotels we had to wait for the 3pm check in however staff friendly and happy to hold luggage. We stayed on 5th floor. The rooms are quite large with twin beds, desk, chair and small sofa. The toilets are clean and amazing! The bath and shower are traditional and very large. All exceptionally clean with good products.No... More

I spend three nights in late July in hotel sunlite and had a very pleasant stay: the staff was nice and helpful, the room big and clean, the location in Gion perfect. All that came at a very reasonable price and I can highly recommend a stay to everyone coming to Kyoto for a few days.

Conveniently situated in the quaint Gion area, just a few minutes walk from the Yasaka Shrine, this is a reasonably priced hotel with a good Western/Japanese buffet breakfast and helpful staff. Accessible by bus 100 or 206 from Kyoto station. The air conditioning worked well in the stifling July heat but the Wifi was a bit unreliable. The bedroom and... More

The hotel has a fantastic location in Gion - in a nice area to walk around, within walking distance of sights in Gion and close to public transit in order to get around the rest of the city. The room was very clean, spacious and well-equipped. Staff were helpful and courteous. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights on the 5th floor of this quaint hotel as part of our Japan adventure. Room was spacious with large bathroom and twin beds which were larger than singles. Fantastic location to explore Gion and lots of restaurants close by. Only gripes were very minor things; smallish hard pillow (tends to be the japanese style though!!) 2... More

The location is the best. Walking distance from the famous geisha street. Spotted more than 5 geisha as a gang in one evening. Its right on the shijo street corner. Good eating and walking place. Big Convenience store opposite to the hotel.

Have no Japanese traditional room, but it's OK. The room is quite good and cozy. You can find everything you need. I will recommend to firends who want to visit Kyoto. Location is quite good, esay to get to the other place in this city by taking pubilic traffic. Have beautiful sight even in the night when in Sakura season... More

Excellent hotel with spacious rooms. The bathroom was big too. The hotel is perfectly located,, tourist bus to all the must-see destination is jus around the corner, walking distance to main night life area. The staff is helpful. You can find vending machines at the ground floor. I strongly recommend this hotel for a stress-free stay in Kyoto. Nothing else... More
