The location is very good, as a lot of go to places are within walking distance. It is right beside the Yasaka shrine, near the sights of Gion and the train stations. I walked all the way to Kyomizu dera and found alot of interesting places along the way. The size of the hotel is a bit on the small... More

It was great. Kyoto is wonderful and this hotel, even being a 3 stars hotel is excellent. It is not very modern-the keys are old fashion ones, not magnetic, and every time going out we had to leave them at the reception- but who cares? It is clean, the rooms are spacious, the staff very nice, English speaking , and... More

We stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting Kyoto for the first time to tour the city and the various main attractions. This is a solid, no nonsense three star hotel with nice clean rooms, large bathrooms, good beds and free wifi. The staff speaks fairly good English and are indeed friendly and helpful. No fitness room (which... More

This hotel is situated in a great location within walking distance to Gion, Yasaka shrine and Kiyomizu-dera temple. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean & spacious with large bathrooms and toiletries all supplied. Beds were comfortable and a good size for single beds, more like a double. Good selection at breakfast, a... More

Excellent hotel in a really great location. Everything you need near by and right in the heart of the Gion district, next door to a fabulous shrine. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. The room was the biggest we came across in Japan with the bathroom feeling like a real luxury. With a wonderful deep Japanese bath.... More

This hotel is very conveniently located beside Yasaka Shrine and near Gion, which makes visiting the area easy. Yet it's quiet, and even though we were located on the second floor, there was no city noise to distract. Yes the establishment is a little older and the lifts are tiny, but the rooms are spacious and the bathroom good-sized. The... More

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at while in Japan and would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. The hotel is a bit older, the elevator is ridiculously small and the doors are opened with key BUT the rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are adequate. The location is perfect because it's within walking distance... More

Hotel is so close to the famous shrine, which you could visit at night. Lots of good traditional restaurant around the area. Room is spacious, especially the bathroom. They have two shower options in your room so that You can try showering the Japanese style. Bed is big enough. Room looks very clean. Good green tea by the way. Front... More

Very basic accommodations and are on the pricey side for what you get. Our room rate was $241 and $305 a night. Staff are eager to please but have limited english skills. Room keys are old fashion, big metal keys and doors. Opening up our room door felt like opening a bank vault. Inside the room, lots of one steps,... More

The hotel is located just at the edge of Gion area, next to Yasaka Shrine. It is very accesible from the train station, several lines conect directly with the hotel in 20 minutes. A very good ubication to explore the city by bus. There are a lot of night life and shopping in the neighbourhood. At sunset, you can spot... More
