The hotel is nice and clean, complete with an onsen. The onsen was not too busy every time I went. The staff are very pleasant and greet you with an enthusiastic “irashaimase” and “iterashaimase” on your way in and out. The rooms are expectantly on the small side, as per Japanese standard, the building is a bit dated but is... More

Short walk from the Kyoto JR station. Hotel was modern and clean. The room (twin room) was quite spacious (for japanese standard). The concierge service was also excellent and was very helpful in our restaurant reservations.

Almont is a very modern hotel about ten minutes from the modern Kyoto Japanese Rail station. very good value- We -my wife and I ( Canadian ) were given a larger room without asking. The ofuro -separate for men and women are first class for washing and resting in the very warm pool -takes up to 20 men in mine.... More

Based on what other reviewers had written, my husband and I stayed in this hotel for several nights while in Kyoto. And I have to say I am not in agreement with those who really liked this hotel. Yes, it is within a 10 minute walk of the station, and yes it is relatively new and modern but there's something... More

I am a female visitor who stayed at this hotel for 4 nights a week ago. The hotel is new, very tidy and clean. The price for each night is very attractive. Overall speaking, the hospitality is petty good and helpful. I did not go to the public bath as I was not get used to it and considering the... More

within 10 minutes walk from JR kyoto station as everyone says, really isn't a long walk at all. room is understandably quite small but which budget jap hotel isn't? bed is on the small side too. front desk girls and guys really do make an effort to go the extra mile though. Wholehearted recommended.

Well run hotel and the public bath downstairs is quite nice! Service was good. Amenities were ok. Even had robes to go to public bath with. Super location near the Kyoto train station. But the beds are quite small. We found the double to be rather squeezy for 2 adults.

Stayed at Kyoto in late Dec 2014, I found this hotel to be great. The rooms were much larger than most hotels in Japan, clean and new. The beds were comfortable and there is a nice onsen. It is about 12 minutes walk from the Kyoto Station. Make sure you have your directions clear so you can get to it... More

Location is good. Only 5minutes walking from kyoto station. Hotel is really awesome, modern, clean, warm. Excellent breakfast. Excellent public bath with relaxing Onsen. Nb: Rooms are very tiny, it is the only negative thing i can write about this wonderful hotel!

The Almont Hotel in Kyoto is a lovely little boutique hotel, very close to the Kyoto station (takes about 5 minutes by foot). It's clean, and modern and gives you everything you need on a trip. We found the staff to be very helpful. We reached quite early in the morning and they kept our luggage and even loaned us... More
