The hotel is new, bright and clean, and its staff were pleasant, polite and helpful in the unobtrusive way that only can be found in Japan. They were happy to lend us umbrellas on a rainy night. The hotel seems serious about getting customer feedback as I was handed a feedback form upon checking in. The room felt very clean... More

This is a nice, but nonluxury, hotel. Rooms are small and well appointed. No restaurant, but there is an ample breakfast buffet with Japanese and Western items. It is located within walking distance of the train station. There is WiFi in the rooms and computers available in the lobby with printers next to them. The hotel is not convenient to the... More

This hotel is located less than a 10 minute walk from the Kyoto station which is convenient. The rooms are basic; however everything is updated and new. You need to request an ironing board and iron from the front desk if you need one. A small refrigerator is in the room. Two cups of coffee and some tea bags are... More

My second visit to Kyoto and I decided to stay at the Almont again. The hotel is excellent just as it was 2 years ago. The rooms are clean and modern, and the whole hotel is shiny and new. Just a 5 minute walk from Kyoto Station. Staff are very polite and friendly. There's even a hot public bath on... More

The Almont Hotel is located very close (5 minute walk) to the Kyoto train station (the city’s main railway station). The rooms are spacious and clean and come with a robe and slippers. The bathroom (bath and shower) is also a nice size and has fantastic bath products. All the staff were extremely polite and nice and greet you every... More

Pros: low price, clean, comfortable, free wifi, coin laundry, close to Kyoto station, convenience store nearby. Cons: the room is tiny..... But what room isn't tiny in Japan? Lovely little hotel in Kyoto. I would stay here again but I may try to get a bigger room.

Spent two nights at this hotel during my trip to Japan. The location is good, close to the train station. Room was fine, though a little small. Bathroom seemed a little old, but there was nothing wrong with it. No noise. Breakfast was good, very Japanese. You’ll find few options for a more western/continental breakfast here. Staff was very helpful,... More

My wife and I spent 10 days in the Kansai region and this hotel was the last one before we fly home. We stayed in 5 other hotels before staying our last two days there. If we can wind the clock back we would have stayed everyday in this hotel. The hotel is two blocks from Kyoto Station, less than... More

I stayed for two nights at Almont Hotel in Kyoto, a relaxing five-minute walk from the Hachijo exit from the station. Staff at reception were very welcoming and, had I needed it, were competent enough in English to put any traveller at ease. The room was right beside the elevator but there was no noise. The facilities were excellent, with... More
