The hotel was the most modern place we stayed throughout my Japanese trip however the location from the nightlife and interesting locales was a fair distance, my boyfriend and I found ourselves taking the train and taxi numerous times to the Shijo area. Nonetheless the facilities, especially the onsen, were top class. I would recommend staying at the hotel for... More

Stayed for 2 nights. Booked using Agoda so got cheap deal with huge room with queen size bed. Clean neat hotel with spa can be used free. Did nit take breakfast. Staff is helpful and friendly. Lobby is huge and i worked for half day with friend seating in lobby. Recommend.

This hotel was very modern inside, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were larger than I had been expecting given other hotels in Japan. If you are travelling as a couple I would recommend booking a twin room, as our twin was HUGE by Japanese standards. Very large bathroom and separate shower room. Beds are very comfy and... More

Surprisingly close to Kyoto Train Station, where city buses as well as buses to Osaka Airport are also based. The place is clean and perfectly organized to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Rooms are tiny but well provided. Modern Japanese style public baths are available at no additional cost and are a blessing late at night after all-day walking... More

The public bath is fantastic~ we love it so much The location of this hotel is also good, about 10 mins walk from main station. The only complain is the size of double bed. It is too small for two adults.

We ended up staying in the Almont because delays in our planning and caused a skyrocketing of prices at other hotels. However this turned out to be a blessing in disguise because the the Almont was serious value for money. For the price point which was around 12k yen per night twin share, this was one of the most value... More

The hotel is nice and clean, complete with an onsen. The onsen was not too busy every time I went. The staff are very pleasant and greet you with an enthusiastic “irashaimase” and “iterashaimase” on your way in and out. The rooms are expectantly on the small side, as per Japanese standard, the building is a bit dated but is... More

Short walk from the Kyoto JR station. Hotel was modern and clean. The room (twin room) was quite spacious (for japanese standard). The concierge service was also excellent and was very helpful in our restaurant reservations.

Almont is a very modern hotel about ten minutes from the modern Kyoto Japanese Rail station. very good value- We -my wife and I ( Canadian ) were given a larger room without asking. The ofuro -separate for men and women are first class for washing and resting in the very warm pool -takes up to 20 men in mine.... More

Based on what other reviewers had written, my husband and I stayed in this hotel for several nights while in Kyoto. And I have to say I am not in agreement with those who really liked this hotel. Yes, it is within a 10 minute walk of the station, and yes it is relatively new and modern but there's something... More
