Very Comfortable hotel (as with most Jap accom, small compared to western). We had a great time hear, lovely staff (even for Japaneses!! ) and in a great central location! You are smack in the middle of the historical area and are bound to see Geisha on the streets (early evening mostly). Close to major train stations and bus routes.... more

We tried to stay in this hotel after a recommendation but I feel we were badly treated. I got in touch well in advance and was told there wouldn't be a problem booking but that I had to contact them on specific date before which they could not take reservations. When I did they said they were entirely booked up... more

For first time visitors to Japan we wanted to experience a traditional ryokan specifically in the Gion district of Kyoto. Ryokan Gion Fukuzumi was the perfect place.
