I stayed this hotel one month ago for 3 nights. The hotel location is good, it was close to Kyoto station (8 min. by car) and some historical and touristic places like Gion and Higashiyama Area (Kiyomizudera is 20 min. by walking). There is a bus stop (Kawaramachi Matsubara, Bus No:4, 17 and 205) in front of the hotel. Also... More

Good service & location, near a bus stop, main attractions, shops, & bus stop. Upon request while booking with expedia, they had given me a room with the most amazing view of the river & hills, & I was lucky to view the beautiful river, sunrise & sunset each day. A walk away from Yasaka shrine, & Kiyomizudera temple. Only... More

Location: Excellent -------------------------- 5 stops on busy 17, 205 or 4 if you're arriving from Kyoto Station. Most of these buses will also get you closer to the "must see" temples in Kyoto than any other train line. It was also a short walk from Gion and the main Kyoto city area where there are lots of shops and food... More

Five stops from Kyoto Station by bus No. 17. You can find the hotel easily. There was a convenience store on the way from the bus stop to the hotel. At the time of check-in, I received a nutritious drink (only for women) and a handy fan. You can also choose additional tea bags and amenities. Wet towels are fine,... More

This hotel has a great location, especially for those who love to walk (like my husband and I do). It's situated just outside of the busy downtown district but that can easily be walked to in less than 10 minutes. It gives you great access to the temples across the river and when you need it, there are two metro... More

Checked in room 404 during April 2014. (spring season) - Awesome sakura tree from the window. - Still able to receive Wifi from 2nd floor. - Receptionist able to speak english well. - Centralized location. typically you can just wander around Gion, Kiyomizu, Pontocho until night without having to worry about transportation. - 9/10 point.Generally I do not have any... I chose this hotel because Sunroute is a great brand – I’ve stayed in two other Sunroute hotels and found them flawless. Hotel Sunroute Kyoto is well located – very central – and is very good value. The breakfast is good. And the staff are typical Sunroute staff – EXCEPTIONAL – and do all they can to make your stay... More

Probably in the best and most convenient position of any hotel in Kyoto, the Sunroute is on the canal and river, a 5 minute stroll to the main city centre and a myriad eateries, has a bus stop out front which takes you to Kyoto station in 7 minutes and is a mere 20 minute walk to the eastern hills.... I usually stay at the Sunroute Plaza Hotel in Tokyo and I rave about it. Thinking that Sunroute was such a great brand I thought this would be a great value like their property in Tokyo. The hotel is in the best location of any hotels in Kyoto. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the Main city center... More
