My husband and son stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is in a good location. It's a very easy walk to attractions. There is a small liquor store just down the street. The staff were very friendly. We had booked a room and was upgraded to a corner room and it was very much appreciated. We had room 1818,... More

Really well located hotel to enjoy all that Kyoto has to offer. Staff went out of their way to be as helpful as possible and all facilities ie coffee shops, bars, bike hire, subway are within walking distance. Really enjoyed our stay here

Had an overnite stay here and was delighted with the large sized immaculate room and personal service here. The tub water pressure was the highest I've ever witnessed. The hotel shops were fairly priced and the basement floor Japanese restaurant was a find. The hotel is centrally located above a beautiful river that is flanked by a running/walking path. Would... Great location for walk abouts and all the amenities of a big hotel in the conference centre style. A bit dated in style and service but the service is warm attentive and plentiful and it's clean and unbelievably quiet for a hotel its size. Sits on top of a huge underground mall and subway stop. Only one annoyance - no... More

We considered many hotels for our short stay in Kyoto and in the end chose this one due to the fact that it's location looked good. We made the right choice, the location was a huge bonus, so much was within easy walking distance. The hotel itself was also better than I expected. Nice modern rooms, extremely helpful staff and... This was my third stay at this hotel over the past 15 years. What I appreciate is that even with years between visits I know what to expect and appreciate the consistency. The faces of some of the people may change over the years but the level of service remains very high. For my purposes, the location couldn't have been... More

This hotel is located centrally in Kyoto, within easy walking distance to shops and the wonderful restaurants along the Pontocho. The 17th floor restaurant has phenomenal views over the Kamo River. While we found the beds a little hard, the room was comfortable and spacious and the scrupulously clean lavatory offered both a bath and stand-alone shower. We also were... More

It's not cheap but for your money you get a large room (at least by Japanese standards), a great view, perfect wifi and good facilities. Also, the location is great for exploring the city. Just keep in mind that restaurants in this neighborhood are rather expensive.

This hotel is in a very nice location. ( It is within walking distance of Nishiki market which is wonderful to visit with all the food shops, restaurants and clothing stores.) Rooms are spacious by Japan standards. The lobby is your typical western large spread out area with all the conveniences. There are lots of shops on the lower level... More
