My Wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! Our room was big with a great view. The Wi-Fi in the room was excellent! The TV only had CNN in English as did every Hotel we stayed at in Japan. The location was great, 10-15 minute walk into Gion and right at the end of the main... More

No value for money. The more you pay the less you get. Would not stay here again if there were other options. Unfortunately not much to choose last minute and the reviews were exaggerated. Nickel and dime you For the rate we paid without breakfast, we were floored when they told us we had to pay 38, 000Y to use... More

This hotel is nice and decent in terms of accommodation, however the pictures make it seem way nicer than it is in reality. That said here are my specific grievances: 1) I requested a non-smoking room, yet the whiff we got upon entering made it OBVIOUS it had been smoked in. The person who showed us to the room refused... I stayed here for a week, and would definitely recommend. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The concierge desk in particular offered exceptional service. Rooms were small, but comfortable and cosy. Internet was fast and reliable. My only complaints about the room was the lack of power sockets (there were some, but not many), and the lack of free... My wife and I stayed at the Okura Hotel in early June 2015. The room was excellent and service from the hotel was equally excellent. The staff we encountered were wonderful. The free, and regular, shuttle to Kyoto station was great and the free WiFi was excellent. Overall, we were extremely happy to be there and we thoroughly enjoyed our... More

Would recommend. Staff had limited English but otherwise hotel was excellent. Immaculate rooms, beautiful decor, safe area in Dotonburi, easy access to subway and market below. Namba Walk in subterranean level was a find for shopping. Outside not impressive.

This is more of a Japanese hotel than what I would consider Western, which is just fine. It's got sort of an old world charm to it and the main lobby reminds me of the Grand Budapest in the movie. The bell staff even wear the little hats. The rooms are high quality and comfortable. We ate breakfast at the... More

Four days in May 15, couple. Hotel Okura is very well maintained, has modern comfortable rooms and helpful staff. The location is excellent for shops, market, restaurants and nightlife. Very central, besides the City Hall and in front of a subway station. Very good breakfast in the 17th floor with view of the Kamo River, city and the mountains surrounding... More

We had a large room with plenty of space. Our room and bathroom were very clean with many amenities, including bath salts for the bath! Our room also had a terrific view of Kyoto. The hotel shuttle was from the train station was very convenient. The breakfast was terrific on the 17th floor, great views with plenty of choice. The... More

This is where you have to stay if you would have a chance to book in advance of your trip. I had a biz trip there and stayed for a night. Room was clean and i was satisfied. Bar was opened late night(like 11 o'clock weekday) Thought it's good for sightseeing trip, not only for business.
