We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in January 2015. The rooms are clean spacious. We stayed a few nights before at the Hilton in Tokyo and the rooms are much bigger than there. I can understand because it's out of Toyko but of the 2 I'd rather spend more time in Kyoto. The beginning of the shopping area... More

Just spent a few days Kyoto. Stayed at hotel okura. Would recommend as the place to stay when visiting this beautiful city. Staff were extremely helpful, polite and the rooms were clean with huge bathrooms. Can't sing my praises enough for the staff, who are tops on my list of all the different countries I have visited. Location is excellent... More

The Kyoto Hotel Okura is a wonderful hotel. Our stay was made better by the incredibly helful concierge eho always had a smile. The room is spacious and just simply comfortable. That the hotel is just few minutes from the subway station made it even better. Will definitely stay at the Kyoto Hotel Okura again for sure.

It was a Great Location, lovely hotel but small rooms. The beds were really comfortable and the location could not be beat right across from the train station. The decor was really nice and the toiletries were super.

We stayed here two nights from Dec 26-28. We booked through Japanican.com, which seemed to have some inventory not even on the hotel website. We got a very nice corner room with a size particularly generous given that we were in Japan, plenty of room for my wife and I and two young children. The hotel is on top of... More

My Husband booked this hotel months ago for our honey moon but the only available room was a twin share room and to our surprise when we arrived we were given a queen size room with two nice origami cranes on the desk waiting for us. The concierge was top class in handling all things minor or major, one of... More

We stayed two nights in early December. We tried to get one of the updated rooms, but as it was high season in Kyoto, we had to settle for a standard twin room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beds were good, and the bedding was very nice. We had a nice view of the mountains. Truly, the room... More

Great location for restaurants and night life as well as getting around this beautiful city. They have a subway stop in the lower basement which is very convenient. The room was large with a beautiful view of the city. Staff is helpful and attentive. That's in the DNA of the people. What a wonderful place to visit.

In addition to being a great hotel, their customer service is unparalleled. My husband forgot a shirt in the room and he considered it lost. However, they found us and sent it back. Some glitch happened and we could not pick it up so the post office returned it to Japan. We are in Massachusetts. Upon getting the shirt back,... More

Hotel is easily accessible to the tourist attractions and very close to the main shopping area of Kyoto. Also close to many great restaurants. All within walking distance. There is also an underground train station right below the hotel. Rooms are large by Japanese standards and clean. Only problem I had was that they are too strict with their rules... More
