This is a modern hotel, opposite the municipal art museum and near the Heian-jingu shrine in northern Higashiyama. That's to say it's fairly far from the city centre, and at least 500m from Higashiyama metro. If you want to be in that area of the city, it's fine, but for its location it is overpriced. We paid ¥11,000 for a... More

The hotel is very nar to Heian Shrine, bus stop, convenience store. It is in front of a river with trees along river. I thought it must be very beautiful in sakura blossom. The environment is quiet and lovely. I enjoyed it by bike. We stayed in japanesse style room. The futton was comfy, AC was good, the toilet inside... More

This hotel is well worth it. Good service, good location and good value. Highly recommended. They have laundry coin machines and drink machines. Also, in addition to the private bathrooms in the rooms, there is a public bath in the basement.

Stayed here for a full week in early July 2014. Staff were all friendly, with some who spoke English better than others. When we got to our room, we hesitated a little in the drab hallway looking at our fairly drab door. However, we discovered our tatami room for 4 was plenty spacious and clean, quiet (facing back) and futon... More

I stayed here for a few days with a friend whilst visiting Kyoto. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English well enough to offer advise and guidance on anything that you might need to know. They also let us check-in several hours early. It's a short walk and easy to find from Higashiyama subway station and located... More

I have been here many times, both for business and for leisure. The rooms are good and clean, with a/c, refrigerator, electric kettle, etc.; there is a Japanese-style public bath downstairs which is really pleasant; the location is good, in Higashiyama ward near Heian shrine; the price is very reasonable (may vary with season). They do not provide internet connection... More

Dear Mr. Loteoc Thank you very much for choosing us. We apologize for the wi-fi system did not meet your satisfaction this time. We really appreciate if you could let us know which room you stayed so that we could fix that problem. As of last summer, all the rooms should be wi-fi free with password so we must fix... More

Great location near the Torii gate and opposite the cherry-blossom lined canal. Very friendly service and good breakfast with choice of Japanese or Western style. Comfortable room - no lift but didn't bother us. Asked for a recommendation for good ramen and got sent to Miyaki Ramen in Gion where the locals go and was not disappointed. Excellent value for... Dear Blimit Thank you so much for choosing us. Kyoto is famous for Ramen shops and there are at least 200 of them. Please come back again and find your real favorite Ramen shop. Probably, if you ask each staff, they would have given you different answers. My favorite is Tonryu ( 東龍)near Philosopher's walk/Ginkakuji Area. Sincerely, IN More

My family and I loved it here! It was the fifth place we had stayed in our seven days so far in Japan and we would have loved to stay here longer than our two-night stay. We stayed in a Japanese family room for two adults and our two teenage children and it was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff... More
