I travelled to Japan on vacation with my husband and we stayed at the Rihga Royal Hotel when we were in Kyoto. We were overall very impressed with this hotel and its level of service. The hotel is about an hour and 15 minutes from the airport in Osaka. That's approximately the time you would have to travel to any... more

Instead of hiring so much staff, the hotel management should invest in updating the hotel. Room I was first assigned (#810) had ed bugs. In both beds. The hotel staff was attentive and got me a different room immediately. The bell boy was apologizing endlessly. Yes, great service that deserves better facility. ocation is very convenient, next to the main... more

We stayed at the Rihga Royal for two nights and was quite happy with the experience. Its about a 10min walk to the station. Print out a map before you leave so that you know which way to go. There is a hotel minibus but it hardly seems worth the hassle! Our room was setup with 4 beds, and still... more

We stayed at this hotel in December last year. This hotel is located about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Kyoto station, which was brilliant for us given we were travelling around the area quite a bit. However, there wasn't much else in the area, which was a bit disappointing. The food at this hotel, as well as at... more

Last year when I went on a school trip and our first stop was at Kyoto, so this was this first hotel we stayed at. It was very clean, the staff were very nice, English is alright because we had to ask them what's our teacher's room and they told us. The items in the room were quite equipped, only... more

Myself and my family stayed at this hotel from February 15-20/09. We mainly choose this hotel, because it was the only one available to accommodate 3 adults and 1 child in one room at such a short notice. We booked our room via Expedia. Hotel: This hotel is rated as 3 1/2 stars. After arriving in Kyoto from Tokyo, we... more

Nice clean large room. This is a large hotel it is larger than most business hotels in Japan. The windows have a nice Japanese touch to it. Bathroom is larger than most buss hotels in Japan. The hotel however is slightly away from the Kyoto station -they offer a bus pick up every 15 minutes. It is difficult to locate... more

Location is close to Kyoto Station. We booked a triple room and at we had to remove some furniture inside the room in order to be able to open our luggage. Average one night business traveler hotel. If you plan to stay there with your kid forget it. Rooms are simply too small. more

RC Jensen Date: 20 June 2008 Trip Advisor Member, London UK I always have great fun reading the reviews written by Americans, in this case the one where they have enthused about large number of cheap restaurants in the railway station complex. They have spent 200 USD on the hotel room and then try to save 20 USD on the... more

We had a twin room in April between the two busy weeks and were very disappointed at the value for the price. We paid around $200 USD per night for a room that would have been an ok value at $125 or less a night. We expected it to be small , so that was not a problem, but I... more
