It is within 5 minutes' walk from the Kyoto Station. There is a good coffee shop on our way to the station. Rooms are clear and tidy. This time we had a room on the 5/F., not much view, but bright and quiet. The people at the front desk spoke clear English and gave clear instructions on how to find... More

If you manage to get s superior room , you will not feel that you are in one of those Japanese hotels where you have to try and fit with your luggage and struggle all around It is spacious, even having a sofa Nice breakfast and nice dining too for open buffet Convenient every 15 minutes bus to Kyoto station... The smallest room yet, with a view over roofs. Our friend was given a smoker's room and had to get it changed. Hotel fairly bright and cheery and staff seem helpful, when you can get one that speaks English. Room was exceptionally hot! There was a mobile fan or whatever it was, but the room felt tight, claustrophobic and congested.... More

I stayed here in April with my family. The hotel is situated right next to the Kyoto station (the main station in Kyoto), so couldn't complain about the convenience. The room had enough space for the three of us including a travel cot. The bathroom was slightly outdated but clean and functional. The only downside was that they did not... More

Hotel approximately 10 minutes walk fro Kyoto main train station. Modern hotel with some facilities. As only there for two nights difficult to say whether a week or more would satisfy. Buffet breakfast at Yen 2500 although 20% discount vouchers given when checking in so at 2000 reasonable value. Facilities at hotel good and handy for train and bus station... More

Modern, business like hotel near Kyoto Station. Used by business travellers and tour buses. Spacious rooms with good views on the business/hotel district. Good beds. Every half hour a shuttle bus to the back side of the station is offered. However, in the station there is no indication from where theat bus is leaving. One should first go from the... More

This hotel is large but the rooms are very small with only one area to put your suitcase, which was a problem if you have two. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean, the staff friendly. There were a couple of chairs and a small table in front of the window but we had to use them for our luggage... More

Pros: Within 10 minutes from Kyoto train station. Free shuttle bus to Kyoto station. Good size clean rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. The revolving restaurant at the top of this hotel is worth a visit. Good value for money. Cons: Very dated/in need of modernisation. Staff speak very little english so brush up on your Japanese. Only one TV... More

Came here with a big group of exchange students, on a field trip to Kyoto. I was only at the hotel to sleep, as I have spent the rest of the day exploring the city. To me, the room was average, but pleasant. I got to get a good night sleep. It is very close to the station, so I... More

I spent three nights in the Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto last week and I really felt like I was in a time warp! This is a strange hotel. It's very large but without any style or grace. The staff were very nice, polite and helpful but there was not much to be done about my room. I'd requested a non... More
