Nice location. Only 10 minutes away from JR station/Bus Terminal. But walking at the night time, it's quite dark and a bit creepy being alone. The room is larger than my expectation. The best thing is free shuttle bus every 15 minutes. About a five-minute ride from Shinkansen Hachijo exit, JR Kyoto station.

Only 5 mins from the station and hotel courtesy bus runs every 15 mind. Very good size rooms by Japanese standards with comfortable beds and some with good views over the city. Very helpful staff. Kyoto is a great city to visit, one of the few not to gave been ravaged in ww2, with lots of historical buildings and temples.... More

The hotel is close to the train station and a good place to start for sightseeing. The rooms are OK, but with small bathrooms and a bit worn out. What surprised me was the unfriendly staff on the counter. This is very unusual for Japan and one of the reasons I rate this hotel under average. The breakfastroom was full... More

We had three nights in this hotel, whose best feature is that it is located around the corner from the main train station. Our room was Japanese-style - very tight - with shoji screens on the windows and wardrobe. We had no place to park our luggage, so had to empty the bags and place them in the wardrobe. Service... It is located about 0.5km from main Kyoto station. The hotel is gorgeous and comfortable. It had all the facilities. Breakfast was in the ground floor and it was well spread. But we had to wait for sometime for entering for breakfast hall. The japanese has very systematic way of seating arrangements for the breakfast. The people are very courteous... More

I enjoyed my stay. Like others said, the hotel is old, but it's Kyoto. I wouldn't want to stay is a glitzy new hotel in the elegance of old Kyoto. The room was very nice, lager than most, and an easy walk to shrines, temples and the train. The breakfast buffet, was reasonably priced, with an enormous selection. But it... More

We arrived in Righa Royal and were very tired after visiting the Universal Studio's. The staff were very friendly! They said that our tour agent booked us (couple) a room with twin beds. I did not need to explain a lot about how unpleasant that is for a couple which just got engaged. We immedeately received a free upgrade to... More

We stayed in this hotel for four nights and here are some impression about it: Location – There two possible good locations in Kyoto: by the railway station or in the city center. This hotel is nearby the main railway station (Kyoto Station) - a great location. Around the station and in the station itself there are plenty of restaurants,... More

We holidayed in Japan for a week and used Kyoto as our base for a few days in May this year. RIGHA far exceeded our expectation on all fronts. The hotel was elegant with good front office services. The rooms were BIG and spacious. The best was its location and the facility to pick up and drop off to the... More

We stayed here in October last year, the rooms were definitely larger than all the other hotels we have stayed in. Nicely decorated. It was designed with a classic japanese touch. Rooms were clean. Kimonos were provided for our own comfort. Hotel staff were friendly. We even tried to tip the porter and he wouldn't take anything ! In terms... More
