We stayed in this hotel for a Kyoto event in mid March. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but everything is just perfect for us - Both the room and the bathroom are of good size (the shower and bath area is big like having a little onsen in your own room!), we have CNN (all in English, not... More

was booked into this hotel by travel agency. Beeing there is like being in a Chinese hotel from the 80´s. Grey rooms, only a few Japanese TV channels (not even CNN). Staff was very friendly and helpful but their command of english could have been better. Rooms and floors are dull and grey, but clean. Green tea on the room... More

Thank you so much for the invaluable feedback following your recent stay at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto. Whilst I am pleased to hear that you found our staff very friendly and helpful, I am very disappointed to have noted that you found our English skills were low level and your room and floors were grey. The interior of our property... More

staff and service are on par with what you would excpect in a ritz carlton or peninsula. the rooms are large and tastefully decorated, albeit a but older. I recommend a room on the 16th floor, which has nice city views. internet and underground parking (!) are included in the room rates. I highly recommend this worry-free property.

The hotel is not so new but had relatively spacious rooms. The breakfast buffet is decent, nothing fancy but good food. The good thing about this hotel is its location. It is walking distance from the Shijo subway stop, Nishiki Market, restaurants and shops along Shijo Dori. So if you are traveling on a budget, this will be a good... More

I was surprised to find the bed so firm when I first sat on it and expected not to be able to get much sleep. However, due to being really tired and taking some Tylenol PM, I slept for about 5 1/2 hours which was as much as I could hope for. Everything else about the place was stellar. One... More

This hotel room was very spacious from what I can tell. We had a twin room, and it was the size of a standard American hotel room. We had a great view from the room, and I was so excited that the window opened, albeit just a little bit. People mention that the rooms are dated but I couldn't tell... More

I was actually looking for hotels a little less pricey, but the location seemed perfect for what we were going to do during our short stay in Kyoto. The rooms are really spacious for being in Japan. They are a little bit dated; maybe a remnant from the bubble years? The rooms have all the amenities you need, and every... More

Overall the hotel is very nice. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and very large! Compared to our room in Tokyo, this room was a small apartment! The shower and bathroom were very spacious as well. The hotel staff was amazing and very polite and responsive. Our first night there we heard loud singing. We thought it was... More

Conveniently located with very friendly staff. Check in was smooth, the rooms clean and spacious with a great shower! After just a short walk you can easily get a bus to the attractions in east Kyoto.
