I just stayed at this hotel in January 2012 for 5 days. Even though my room (919) was clean, the carpet in my room was very stained and dirty looking. The room was small and there is no view - the room was facing hotel rooms on the other side of the hotel, so that you do not even want... More

We stayed at here for three nights in early January 2012 and had a great experience. I'd managed to secure a room for a very reasonable price on Expedia and wasn't really expecting much considering the amount I paid. But the hotel looks pretty grand in the entry and our room was fantastic - very modern and clean. The bathrooms... More

Seems this hotel has a few bad reports but I cant see why. I stayed here for one night during a tour of the country. The staff could speak very good English which was great for directions etc. The room was clean and the furnishings looked pretty new to me. People have commented on the toilets being a plastic cubical... More

The only thing nice about that hotel is the location. Room in bad shape, overaged bathroom (plastic cubicles), over heated, noisy, desperately need a renovation. Even international TV is paying (automated machines on the lift landing. Breakfast buffet is gross and service is helpless. More

This hotel is conveniently located next to Kyotoshiyakusho-mae (京都市役所前) Subway station, and it's at the beginning of the shopping district Kawaramachi (河原町), which makes food very easily available. Also a convenient base to explore areas like Gion, Kiyomizu-dera Temple 清水寺 (possible walking distance) and most other areas such as Nijojo, Kinkaku Temple, Heian-Jingu Shrine, etc. - personally think this area... Stayed four nights during late December 2011. The twin room was large and clean & with a nice view to the street. The bathroom was also very good. The best part of the Hotel is location; you are close to Gion district, Nishiki market and Pontocho, both the Imperial Castle and the Nijo Castle and most of the important temples,... More

The location & the English capabilities of the receptionists are most appreciated. The room is small and the TV programs are limited. The room charge is slightly higher even though at mid of Dec. Overall, I still recommend to stay for the family travelers. More

The Good:- -After being woken up at all hours of the night by guests 3 days in a row, we got upgraded to a different room on a different floor which was then quieter. -Internet access was good, quite fast -close to shops and food outlets The Bad:- -The hotel rooms are quite "run down" with an old style feeling...
