We spend two nights there, and it was definitly the best hotel which we have been too. The first thing we noticed was that the location couldn't be better. This is a good choice if you are new to Kyoto and does not know where to go after being in the Kyoto Station. In fact, Kyoto Station has signs which... More

Stayed in the New Miyako for 4 nights on arrival in Japan after taking the bullet train from Osaka Kansai. Feeling jet lagged and very culture shocked (walking out into Kyoto station on a first journey to Japan is a once in a lifetime experience!), we were very pleased to find the hotel was directly across the road from the... We booked the hotel as a package along with the Shinkansen from Tokyo. the hotel is huge with over 900 rooms and although we stayed in the old wing, we found it most comfortable. If the aim of th trip is sightseeing, then this is the location for it. Although the kyoto station is quite huge so it does involve... More

Awesome location, it's just a stone throw from Kyoto Station. You just step out of the Station and the hotel is right there, you don't need to take a taxi, which is ultra expensive in Japan.

We took the bullet train from Tokyo and arrived at the JR Kyoto station and the hotel is located just across the road. Accomodation is very good and the staff are excellent. We had three rooms and they first put us in rooms without internet. We requested we wanted rooms with internet and without any hassles, all three rooms were... More

We had a package with the bullet train. This hotel was the one we chose. Knowing only the outside photograph and feedback from Trip Advisor, that was the extent of our knowledge. Well, it was not the eye catching hotel from the outside, but enter those doors you are entering a tranquill, luxurious oasis. The hotel is built around a... More

I stayed for three nights with husband and teenage son (15). Yes, its a large hotel and therefore slightly on the impersonal side, and there is no gym (not a worry for me). Our room was non smoking and my other half who is very sensitive to smoke was very happy. We had an older room(they are busy upgrading the... More

Stayed there for 3 nights on business. Good location as it is right across the street from the train station so yuo have access to the trains and buses. Also lots of shops and restaurants close by in and around the station. The rooms are a bit larger than average and are clean. Staff was friendly. Tons of tourists. Negatives... More

I stayed at the Miyako hotel when I was in kyoto. It is a very nice hotel that has 3 resturants, a duty free shop where you can buy kyoto goods and a massage room. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The name New Miyako hotel is quite an understatement. It was an old hotel situated near the Kyoto train station. The check in was slow because the lady who checked us in found it difficult for some reason. Was not sure why and she could not speak English quite well so did not bother to ask. The hotel was quite... More
