I stayed at Ryokan Yuhara for 5 nights during a 2 week trip to Japan and it was easily the best of my accommodations. Mr Yuhara is a whilrwind of helpfulness and happiness, and his mother is lovely. I had a large Japanese-style room on the top floor which was clean and calm (and importantly for July in Japan, had... More

We stayed 10 nights at Rryokan Yuhara in May 2014 and this was the best ryokan of our 3 weeks trip in Japan. The Yuhara family is adorable. They will help you on anything you need, showing all the things to do around. The area of the ryokan is perfect, near a very cute river - takase gawa - very... More

A bit diffucult to find, but lovely. Very clean, spacious rooms. Lovely japanese style bathroom. The owners are very kind and devoted. They will help you to enjoy your stay in Kyoto. If I ever come to Kyoto again, I will go there for sure.

This was my second time at Yuhara in Kyoto. The hotel is ideally located, close to the station (15min walk or a cheap 500yen taxi fare), in a very calm and picturesque street, lined with old trees and a lovely canal. The owners are the kindest people you can find, they will direct you to good restaurants nearby, a cheap... More

This third generation family run inn is great value. We payed approx. 4.500 yen per person and we've never come close to a hotel this fresh for that money. We've now stayed at 6 hotels in Japan during our trip and this is by far the cleanest hotel and most welcoming one as well. Perhaps the greatest value for money... More

We wanted a reasonable and clean base for our Kyoto stay and Yuhara was perfect. Mr Yuhara and his mother welcomed us and gave us a wealth of information to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and comfortable with everything to hand. We didnt have a bath and we were in and out quite a lot during our... More

We managed to find this wonderful ryokan in Kyoto through a helpful local as it was not listed on most of the websites i have been in. maybe that's also the reason that we were able to find rooms here while every rooms or beds in every other place is taken. A family run business for many years, Yuhara- san... More

My husband and I are Americans living in Japan most of the year, so we are used to Japanese inns. After an uncomfortable night in a "modern" hotel near the train station, we so enjoyed our three nights here. Our hosts, Yuhara-san and her son, were warm and always willing to help out. We learned that this traditional Japanese inn... More

We stayed at Yuhara with my wife for the our first night in Japan. I wish we had stayed longer, as the hosts at Yuhara were so warm and welcoming. Yuhara is located at a very nice and peaceful area with no noises bothering at night - something we came to value when we stayed at a more centrally located... More
