Got tonnes of good reviews about this little lodging place in Kyoto. Stayed two (2) nights in early December but I can't hide my disappointment. Cleanliness - Very average by Japan' standard. There's a luggage store area in the triple ensuite we stayed and a built-in cabinet which gives you the *yucks* feeling. Staffs - Responsive to our email enquiries/... more

As you'd expect the rooms are a bit basic but, for the price, the place is great! Well located and fantasticly helpful staff. Each room is supplied with a 5* information pack which details loads of places of interest in the surrounding area. more

Really loved this place; give a feeling of home, very friendly staff. Three of us stayed in Japanese-style room during holidays. We paid about 3,200yen each, and we’ve got small ensuite. This was great value! We will definitely stay here again. more

Only a 10 minute walk from the station, what makes it a perfect place to walk to easily. The staff is really nice and helpfull, anything you ask and they will assist you! The place is superclean and all required information is there! They have got good bikes for rent and there's even a bike rental place just around the... more

This place might have been okay 10 years ago, but now it's terribly overpriced compared to it's service&facilities. We stayed in triple room and with the same price you can get very good hotel room with breakfast, in-house onsen etc. from Kyoto. Walls are paper thin, meaning the place is very noisy and cold, our room smelled very bad, I... more

I'm a very experienced business and leisure traveler and scheduled a two week trip to Japan with my family. We stayed in an international hotel, a fancy ryokan, a budget ryokan and a Buddhist monastery during the trip. When we walked in, my family was a bit skeptical but it was the best on our trip. The owners were helpful... more

This inexpensive hostel offered a great deal. The owners were experienced travellers who put a lot of thought into making our time in Kyoto as easy and enjoyable as possible. The English speaking staff were very professional and provided binders with ideas about things to and explanations of foods and places. The rooms were minimalist and spotless, the zen garden... more

As part of my girlfriend and my world trip, we decided to stop in Kyoto, Japan. Throughout Japan, we were staying at hostels and guest houses so we began to get a good idea of what to expect with the price. Tour Club Kyoto was alright. For the same amount of money we stayed at better equipped places. All the... more

We booked a private room with bathroom and got amazing value for money. The hotel is always clean, the service staff are so nice (they brought us free saki every evening). The location is also incredible. The best thing about this hotel is that it is a great place to interact with other travellers. The atmosphere is really friendly and... more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tour Club in Kyoto - its not stunningly beautiful but who needs that? What matters to us is that the rooms are extremely clean, beds comfortable and we had plenty of space for luggage. We had our own bathroom (unusual for the price we were paying), air con, kitchenette, TV, free wifi in... more
