Excellent reception on lower floor reached by escalator. Water feature and garden a lovely peaceful centre piece viewed from seating area or dining room. 3 lifts no problems, cases delivered to outside our room. Bedroom well presented, maintained and pleasant appearance, quality fixtures and fittings. Bedroom over looking large car park at the back of the hotel so was quiet...Room... More

For Kyoto visitors who like to sleep close to the train station, this is a good pick. Their bus takes you to and from train station every 15 / 30 minutes which is only a few minutes driving. When leaving Kyoto we walked to the station which took us about 20 minutes walking. For visiting the main sightseeing locations the... More

We had a group booking for 15 people with a one night stay - the hotel check-in was efficient and effective. Rooms were nice and the standard was upper mid range - a business or touring type hotel that won't disappoint. Location was a little out of the way - but not a major issue The restaurant and bar were... More

Kyoto Tokyu Hotel might not be on the doorstep of the arts precinct and might be a bus ride from the Station, but there is nothing this hotel wouldn't do to assist. Our room had a view of the old Shrines and the promising forest mountains that surrounds Kyoto. The Hotel was very Mad Men, as though it is just... More

The hotel has a lovely elegant entry followed by a shoebox size room. Staff were very helpful and speak good English. The hotel does have a shuttle bus service to Kyoto Station but only runs until 8:30pm ; so if you want to experience night life or have a bit of shopping the best way is to catch a taxi... More

First of all this hotel is small and dark inside the room bit of walking distance from hotel but we had shuttle bus arrive at station before we got there which is good, secondly reception area lots of staff standing around doing nothing, only good thing is wifi not much of view from balcony except for povo side of kyoto... This is a beautiful hotel with design public spaces. However rooms are small and not soundproof (in particular from corridor). Hotel located not in a central area but free service shuttle very usefull to reach station and local buses in front on.

Come to this hotel if you really enjoy breakfast as a contact sport! The food is good, but the place is overwhelmed with people trying to jam down their breakfasts so as to get on their tour buses. Elbows work really well here. Rooms have apparently had bathrooms added, as there is a treacherous step-up from the bedroom floor into... More

This large hotel is very comfortable, with good sized rooms (for japan) but its location is not particularly convenient. The hotel addresses this by providing a free shuttle bus every half hour to the railway station which is centrally located. There are not many obvious dining out options nearby. One night there was a jazz singer in the bar -... More

When you first enter the hotel you see a large floral display, which was lovely. You then go down an escalator to the reception area. This is where the lifts are, so it is not easy manoeuvring luggage, especially if you are elderly or disabled. We were disappointed with the room. One bed was pushed against the wall as the... More
