When you first enter the hotel you see a large floral display, which was lovely. You then go down an escalator to the reception area. This is where the lifts are, so it is not easy manoeuvring luggage, especially if you are elderly or disabled. We were disappointed with the room. One bed was pushed against the wall as the... More

Very good hotel, good size rooms, good in house dinning options. Friendly staff, and happy to assist. Only complaint was its a bit of a walk to the subway and to far to walk to the train station, the hotel does run a shuttle bus, several good restaurants within 500 meters walk.

Stepping into the entrance lobby it was apparent this hotel was in a different league from the other Tokyu hotels we stayed at in Japan. Elegant floral displays, a water feature and a spacious lobby made a good first impression. And at last a decent size room. Spacious, an air conditioning system which worked, and space to store clothes. All... More

Seems very drab from the outside but the inside is fine - we couldn't decide if it was kitsch or cool. A lot of comments about the inconvenient location from a few people - absolutely the best thing to do is make regular use of the hotel shuttle to Kyoto station. We used this two- or three times daily to... More

The hotel itself is large, has several decent if not great restaurants in it, and has free, fast WiFi. The staff is quite pleasant and helpful, if not bending over backwards for you. The location is a little blah but workable. The breakfast buffet is also totally fine: good but not outstanding. This is also clearly a wedding-focused hotel, with... More

Decent hotel, rooms of a good size. Free shuttle from Kyoto station is convenient. Area around hotel is a little quiet but we did find some small restaurants on the streets East of the hotel. Service excellent and the concierge was especially kind and came with good suggestions.

Many people state the location is an issue , personally I found it not a problem. The shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes to Kyoto station and a taxi is less than 10 US dollars. The Gojo metro station is nearby and reception has 1 or 2 day passes for metro and bus. We walked to the number 5 bus... More

The hotel itself is great, it was perfect for our 2 night stay in Kyoto. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quite spacious compared to some other hotels in Japan. The location of the hotel is not the best, it is just past walking distance from the main train station. However, they do have a shuttle bus which drops you... More

Immaculate hotel. Clean and a lovely atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable and were a good size. Good location we felt as all public transport was close by. The hotel also had a free shuttle bus which went to and from the kyoto station every half an hour from 8am to 8.30pm (when it is busy the shuttle runs almost every 15mins).... More

We stayed at the hotel for only one night on a quick sightseeing tour of Kyoto. It's a good location close to the train station but also near some interesting sites and a quick journey to the main Shrine tour and Gion district. The room was smallish but very comfortable with a really good bed. The staff were friendly and... More
