The location was perfect. The hotel is clean, service was ok. The standard room for couples is suitable for singles only. No space to open a suitcase while 2 people stay in the room. Bathroom as small. 2 lifts are not enough for a 9 store building, and so is the dining room. Crowded. There is a washing room which... More

Cool entrance and lobby area with art sculptures - you need a room key to use the elevators. Nice, clean room. A little larger than the regular Japanese standard. Breakfast way too pricey- even though the selection was quite big. We were in walking distance of everything we wanted to see and took taxis to and from Kyoto station. I... More

We booked a little late for cherry blossom season but it was the highest ranked hotel for our dates. I can't say I was pleased with our stay. The lobby was usually crowding as the hotel books gigantic tour groups, so I felt I was getting run over 24/7. Our room was super tiny and I have stayed in hotels... More

We booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews as it was the highest-ranked hotel with availability for the dates we were going to be in Kyoto. We came expecting less and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very convenietly located for tourists exploring the nightlife and restaurants of Gion (and for geisha spotting there) and for accessing the shrines and... More

Stayed here for four nights as part of a tour to Japan. The hotel is an international rather than Japanese hotel but is a really good base for enjoying this lovely city. It is close to the centre for shopping and has a great variety of eating choices quite close by.

I loved staying at the Royal Park Hotel, Kyoto. This is a modern, upscale hotel located in the hearty of Kyoto, right by the Gion district with easy access to the nightlife and Kyoto station. The hotel is clean, beds are comfortable and even though the hotel was located on a main street, it still felt very cosy and secluded.... More

Stayed here for 8 nights and loved every moment. Kyoto has a lot to offer and the hotel is well placed. We often walked from our hotel or got taxi. Staff are extremely friendly and happy to help. Concierge service wonderful. We do no speak any Japanese but staff were on hand to help. They were wonderful at booking and... More

We stayed in this centrally-located hotel for 3 nights during a tour of central Japan. Its location is its big plus - so close to the river, the food market, and within easy walking district of the geikon district. The entrance is dark and gloomy, with some very unsettling sculptures, and the reception staff were unusually unfriendly. They did not... More

A highly recommended hotel. Not cheap but worth the price. Excellent location at the heart of Kyoto. Rooms are not big but the quality of attention and amenities completely compensate this. We stayed for three days in the Ladies only floor and it's no doubt the best hotel we have stayed in the three weeks holidays in Japan. All the... More

There are very few positives about this hotel the main being its central location and how well it is situated for public transport. The hotel offers free wifi which is relatively fast but this is norm in Japan. Other than these we felt very unhappy staying in it and we could not find alternative accommodation given the fact that it... More
