Spent 4 nights here in late march and then another night before we flew out of Tokyo. The hotel was excellent - great location, clean, friendly staff and they even upgraded us on our last night. The rooms are very well appointed, beds comfy and its really easy to get almost anywhere in Tokyo from here - not to mention... More

This is a stylish hotel in a good central location if your sight-seeing will take you to different parts of Kyoto. The staff is courteous and helpful, both at the front and concierge desks. For example, they will give you a list specifying which buses to take for the best-known Kyoto attractions, and a map showing which bus stops are... More

We stayed here for five days on March. We were a bit disappointed at first that the hotel was located quite a long way from the main Kyoto railway station and we were intending to use a JR Pass for travel to other cities from Kyoto. We discovered however that it is placed very close to two subway stations and... More

This hotel is all about efficiency. Our room was a great value for the money in a city that is expensive to stay in. For a solo business traveler on a budget, this would be ideal. For an example of how well thought out everything is, the bathroom is tiny, but the mirror is heated, so it doesn't fog over,... More

I personally like the entry and foyer area to this hotel. The bar is trendy with good service. The reception staff are very professional. We stayed in some lovely hotels while in Japan and we didn't find the room here anything special - especially for the rate we paid (Twin Cnr). It was quite a boring looking room. The bathroom... It was very clean and modern. Toilet was great. Love the shower. It was comfortable. Try it! Hotel staffs answered every queries on how to go... More

My son and I spent 5 days at the RPK in June of 2014, and it was a convenient and modern place to stay in the wonderful city of Kyoto. The hotel is near many good restaurants (even a Mexican one is close by-when you are with an 18 year old, Mexican food, even in Japan, is a must), and... More

I struggle to think of anything negative about our stay here. Upon entering the building (next to the French bakery downstairs), you actually feel like you're in a compact luxury hotel rather than another three star place. The place is obviously well maintained and presented. Front of house staff likewise provide a service that goes above and beyond price range.... More

Royal Park Hotel The Kyoto is good hotel. The lobby is spacious and modern. Although we arrive at 13:00, the room is not ready. However, we could go around and explore the surroundings. Check-in time 14:00 should not be the problem for us as it is closed to shopping area and dining area!!!!!!!! The Guest Service is professional as we... More

PROS + Good location - it's within easy walking distance to Shijo Kawaramachi (plenty of shopping and many of the City Buses stop in the area) and to Gion, Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park and Kiyomizudera. + The staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke good English + Rooms are clean and comfortable CONS - Rooms may be a bit small,...
