Good, artsy hotel. Friendly staff. The breakfast is good way to eat relatively healthy and get your veggies for the day. We don't speak Japanese so we didn't explore many restaurants nearby. However there is an amazing ramen shop right down the street. The name is xxxx大荣 (it showed up on google nearby) The food is great and the owner... More

I love this concept hotel very much . Yamazaki whisky complimentary from Anteroom which I find very sweet service indeed ! Overall the two night stays was real satisfied , I would recommend this hotel for those who don't mind to walk a little more from Kujo Station :) I don't mind walking since the area is really safe .

The hotel definitely has an artsy, industrial vibe. Check in was easy and the hotel staff was courteous. They still use keys for the rooms and the doors don't automatically lock so be wary of that. Also make sure to hand in your key at the front desk prior to leaving the hotel. The room was small, but functional. It... More

A very strange hotel, I accidentally booked here. It used to be a student dorm and their concept is definitely unique although I felt the whole thing a little 'cold' and being in prison. Their entrance hall was filled with some sort of upcoming artists' work (I did not necessarily liked them but it depends on each person's taste). The... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights while sightseeing in Kyoto. Its location is not a far walk from the subway or nearby bus stops, so even though it’s not in the middle of town everything is still easily accessible. The staff was very friendly and the fact that neither of us speaks Japanese was a problem. The... More

About 15 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. Although a little bit far from the city center, this is still a highly recommended hotel with spacious and cozy room. Besides, I found it difficult to make use of their complimentary laundry service at peak time such as after 8pm. Actually, there were just a few pieces of clothing or one... More

The most unusual hotel I've ever stayed in -- not only were the entry, lobby, and lounge a veritable art gallery, but the rooms themselves were elegantly but simply decorated. Daily breakfast served from 7am to 10am served as a healthy brunch -- vegetable smoothie, salad, yogurt, two pita sandwiches (different ingredients each day), coffee, tea and juices. The breakfast... Stayed for 3 nights in October. I had read about this place for months leading up to my visit and was looking forward to it immensely (was also featured in Casa Brutus magazine). An amazing layout with the lobby being used as a small gallery/exhibition space. All of the rooms are consistent with having a very industrial and minimalistic design... More

This hotel may not be in the centre of town but is all the better for it. You can easily walk from Kyoto Station or take the underground to the stop Kujo from where the hotel is 5 minutes stroll through a pleasant residential area. Upon reaching the hotel I was met with a warm welcome and an intriguing art... More
