Excellent hotel. Great price, amazing breakfast. Customer service impeccable. 8 blocks from Kyoto central station, and 3 blocks from the subway station. You have a series of unusual amenities such us: bicycles to use for 2 hrs or to rent for the day, a washing-drying machine, and you can buy with the the NAVI pass to use the bus in... More

I stayed in Hotel Anteroom Kyoto for 4 times during recent 4 years. The staff are always kind and with smile. The hotel is a renewal from an old school apartment. There are variant exhibitions held at 9.5 Gallery. The breakfast is different from other hotels. The main dish is "pita sandwiches". You also can have the salad with Kyoto-vegetables,... More

Hotel Anteroom is a comfortable sightly quirky hotel. We stayed there for a week in August, and enjoyed it. The only drawback is being slightly off the beaten track, although it is not far from a metro station

I stayed here for 4 nights in August. Location wise it is quite conveniently located south of the main train station (one tube stop away). If you don't fancy walking you can always take the tube and, then, walk for under 5 minutes. There's not much to see around this area, however, since it's close to the station, I didn't... More

Best services! ! ! Big room space and reasonable price. Not far from the train station and the staffs are enthusiastic and supportive. Next time visiting Kyoto, I will choose this hotel again for sure.

Young, modern, minimalist, contemporary and just the right side of cool. I really liked the Anteroom I had a single room which was more spacious than i expected in a country where space is a premium. The bathroom was compact, but very clean and came with fragrant toiletries and bathroom accessories. The shower is over a very deep small tub,... More

Located south of the train station and quite far from all sights and city center, this hotel is not optimal for touristic activities. Yet, within 10 min walk from the train station and close to a metro stop, it is possible to get anywhere. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, Western food (sandwiches,... More

comfortable, clear and tidy, modern style, polite staff, good services The only problem I met is about the language. I can communicate well with your staff through emails, however, I cannot find any staff at the reception counter who can use english well, neither speaking nor listening. It would be super nice if the english standard of your staff, especailly... More

The Hotel Anteroom in Kyoto is a haven, a really comfortable and beautiful hotel in walking distance from the station. The staff are really helpful and the breakfasts were brilliant. They catered for my coeliac son really well so they were also a gluten free haven in a country that has few options. I would recommend this hotel to anyone... More

Stayed here for 3 nights and I can't fault it. Room was a standard single and had everything I needed. Free washing machine and great bar in the lobby, also the bike hire is great. There is works of art in the lobby which make it very interesting to look at. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
