If you want to stay at a hotel that is right in the center of the action in Kyoto, this is the place for you. One word of caution, the hotel property in NOT in Google Maps, so you need to plug in the address to find it manually. One trick is to put into Google Maps: "Mina Kawaramachi dori... More

The hotel location was good and easy to transit from one place to another. The room size is above my expectation after went through reviews about the hotels in Japan. It was not too small and it is nice for 2 person. The staffs are friendly too. One thing, it is really need to read carefully on the direction to... More

Clean and comfortable. Location was really good too it is just outside the pinto cho area and very near the train so I can pretty much get to anywhere very easily. Am very lucky to get this find. Couldn't be better :)

Just had 3 nights at the hotel over a weekend, used to be a B.W. G.M.in 5 UK properties so knew the standard to expect, read the other reports and agree no Wi-Fi in the rooms is mad in a new hotel in 2014, great speed in reception but uncomfortable cube stools to sit on & no privacy to Skype.... We loved our stay at the BW Kyoto. It is in a perfect location, surrounded by many shops and restaurants and close to transit. The staff members were always so friendly and helpful, we really appreciated everything they did for us. The rooms were spacious (for Japan!), and beautifully decorated. My only suggestion is that the hotel put in a... More

A great hotel. We got upgraded on arrival by the staff who spoke fantastic English. Our room was very big. The location was fantastic, so close to everything you could possibly need or want from kyoto. Our room was beautiful, and was cleaned immaculately every day. If I come back to Kyoto, Ill be staying here again.

Sometimes, when you opt for location you have to sacrifice other areas. The Best Western in Kyoto is very close to a number of locations, and being in such a spectacular place as Kyoto we hardly spent any time at the hotel other than to put our heads down. However, the room was tiny. We literally had problems getting our... More

As we were only going to be in Kyoto for 48 hours and with many things planned, this hotel met our priority of a good location with a lower cost than nearby options. At a rate of ~$100 USD/night I don't expect many amenities and that held true with our stay - the included breakfast was minimal, the room size... More

This Best Western is on Rokkaku Dori, two streets south of the subway stop Kyoto Shiyakushomae on Oike Dori. This was a good hotel and I would stay there again: the staff was nice and spoke good English, the morning breakfast was good enough, and because it is on a pedestrian mall, it was very quiet. More importantly, it was... More

The good: - The location is great! Right on Teramachi-dori, it's adjacent to a huge shopping arcade and department stores, and if you explore further afield, you can reach Heian Shrine and Gion in under half an hour. - The room is rather basic, but clean and convenient. The bad: - The breakfast is disgraceful and a complete waste of... More
