Peace house was very warm and welcoming, I would recommend it to any one wanting to visit Kyoto. Good rooms for couples, a good bathroom and toilet and communal area. The location is perfect, close to historical Gion and various shrines and temples. Staff were so helpful and friendly, made us feel right at home.

Very cute little hostel with traditional Japanese futon beds so basically sleeping on the floor which was really comfy. The private room was small but we were so busy enjoying Kyoto that this did not matter. The shared kitchen was handy and shared bathrooms basic but clean. You can rent bikes through the hostel but they do get booked up... More

We stayed there for two nights and happy with it. The location is so convenient: there is a direct bus to the main train station, so easy to go when arriving / Laeving Kyoto with luggage. The area is nice, full of cafes, restaurants, bars, temples, shops; also close to the theater where the geikos are dancing. The staff is... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a really cute place to stay with a casual feel about it. It's small, it kind of feels like a homestay almost because the kitchen and lounge room are connected to the reception area. The staff are all young and friendly. It's really conveniently located - you can walk all over... More

I'm staying at this little hotel for only one night but in the moment I entered I felt a nice and comfortable sensation. This is the perfect place if you're in a small group and you're traveling with your friends. It's a spartan situation but if you're young or you don't care too much about being extremely comfortable, this is... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Met some cool people and rented a bike for cheap. Kai is a sweetheart. The place isnt a 5 star hotel but more like a homestay. Location is prime and its cheap so good value..

It was within reach from the central station, both by train and bus. The price was good, the staff was helpful and friendly. Clean and good room, with Japanese futon bed and it was very comfortable (to my surprise!). They got toilet and shower room, hair dryer, and microwave in each floor. They even provided soap, shampoo, and conditioner inside... More

We stayed here for 3 nights (due to being desperate for accommodation in peak season) and I would have a hard time recommending it to others. While the location is good and staff are friendly, the place is very unclean. I appreciate that this is a hostel but never have I stayed in a hostel before where the bathrooms weren't... More

We scored one of the two basement rooms in this hostel and basic is probably the best description. The room was clean enough and had a bed but that's it. The kitchen was filthy, but the bathroom is pretty clean and it's very well located and easy to find from Gojozuku bus stop. Close to Kyoto station and the Gion... More

This hostel is close to subway and Gion areas. Staff was very friendly. We stayed in the top floor but the room was a little bit smelly. Basement rooms would be worse. Shared bathroom and toilet were clean. Will not stay again.
