Jiyu-jin is a basic guest house. Very reasonably priced for lodging in Kyoto. Everything, from room itself to shared bathroom and sinks, was clean. Staff was friendly and spoke very good English (for Japan). Unfortunately took a star off for location. Guest house is located in a random alley and was difficult to find, even for taxi drivers.

Close to subway station.Its not far from Kyto station. I stayed Dom. Its simple,small room but space is enough for just a sleeping. There is located residential areas.so quiet.

I would NOT recommend this hostel to anyone..I paid for 2 nites..and when..I told them..that I would ONLY stay one nite because I was staying with my friend Miki in her home in Kyoto..they would not refund my money for the 2nd nite..this is unacceptable.I have stayed in various hotels in ..US..and MExico..and if I dont stay..what I pay for..I...
