Had a fantastic stay, can't fault the location, facilities or staff, all great. We stayed in a private ensuite room - traditionally tiny yet comfortable and immaculately clean. A perfect base for checking out Kyoto, wish we had stayed longer, especially as after 3 nights stay you get a free day bike rental and a few other goodies - this... More

I stayed there for 4 nights there. The staff are helpful with good English dpeaking skill. The location is central. About 5 mins walk from Kyoto station and bus terminal. In front of the alleyway to hotel there is a bus stop where you can catch bus no.26 to kiyomizu dera temple and gion or no.28. There is a convenience... More

This hostel is very close to Kyoto Station, ATMs, and makes getting around Kyoto easy. I highly suggest renting a bicycle from the hostel if you are good with maps. It will save a lot of money and stress. This was a quiet hostel and it was in a fairly quiet area. Not much nightlife in this area. The rooms... More

I was so pleased when Hana hostel Kyoto was opened as I had previously stayed at the sister hostel in Hiroshima and had a great time. Since my first visit I have stayed here another two times and each time the staff have been so wonderful to us. I have always stayed in the rooms with private ensuite so can... More

We stayed two nights at the Hana Hotel in Kyoto. It was clean, the staff was friendly and it was very centrally located in Kyoto close to. At check-in we were offered free packets of bath salts to use which came in very handy after walking 8-9 miles around the sights of Kyoto each day. The hotel offers a modest... More

Stayed here for 3 weeks in 2010 when I was working in Kyoto. Great hostel super close to Kyoto station. Very clean with a super friendly staff. I've stayed here at various times since them. I no longer live in Kyoto but I visit often. I always check to see if this place is available.

It is located very near from Kyoto Station. We just need 3 minutes walk to Yodabahsi Mall near Kyoto Station. The navi bus stop no 205 is also very near from this hostel (2 minutes walk). And there is Sukiya restaurant in 3 minuts walk :) The ensuite Japanese (rokujo-ma) room is very fancy with the bunk bed and tatami... More

Kyoto Hana Hotel is a relatively small, compact hotel that is spotlessly clean, a very good standard of room and excellent staff. The hotel is situated a short walk away from the main temple park areas and a mere stone's through form rail, metro and bus depot. Although my room was classed as being single, it was larger than the... More

I was here for one night and I had a good night sleep. This was my first time at a hostel and if every hostel was as clean, affordable, safe, and comfortable as this one I wouldnt have to worry. I stayed in a 8 person dormitory. The bed was huge and i slept on the upper bunk bed which... More

We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. My partner and I booked a room with four bunk beds so we shared it with two other people. It was really clean and well kept - especially for a hostel! The room was quite large as well so all four of us weren't too crammed in. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Hana Hostel. “Hana” means “Flower” in Japanese. We try to be a fresh and cheery hostel like a lotus flower floating in the pond. Kyoto Hana Hostel opened in April, 2010.The building used to be a local “Ryokan”. We remodeled this into an advanced international hostel. As we are very close from the station and the guest rooms are well-equipped, we will be an good option to stay for not only backpackers but also for ordinary tourists with suits cases. ... more   less
