Very cheap and near Kyoto station. Around 5- 8 mins walk. Only setback is no lift as we were travelling with big luggage. And have to climb 3 floors. Wi-Fi service is strong in the room. Staff cheerful and friendly and knowledgable on the tourist area.

A great clean + friendly hostel. Our female 6 share had curtains around each bed so it felt like your own mini room. Each bed had a locker, power supply and a light. Good wi-fi. Highly recommended. Good shared facilities.

I choose it because i had a good experience in Osaka hana hostel. Kyoto hana is cheaper while the place, service, location are as good as Osaka hana. you can cook, enjoy free coffee there, and also meet great staffs and people there. It will always be my first choice.

Myself and two friends stayed in one of the dorms. The room had four bunk beds, which were perfectly comfortable. The room was quite a nice size and very clean. The communal shower and bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained; even a hairdryer was available for use. The same goes for the kitchen and living area, which was complete... More

PROS: Extremely helpful English speaking staff (amazing!), clean facilities (albeit cramped but typical for the region, we stayed in the private double room with en suite), tatami mats for beds were comfortable enough, great location close to the station, clean common areas for meals and relaxing, bike rentals. CONS: No elevator though there is only one floor; the area does... More

My parents & I stayed in Triple Ensuite Japanese room for 4 nights during our recent visit to Kyoto. Here are some of my observations / reviews worth sharing of: (1) The hostel is, no doubt, strategically located. Do print out the location map which can be found on their website http://kyoto.hanahostel.com/access_e.html. With the printed located map, it was hassle... More

Walking distance to Kyoto Station and bus station. Small and clean room but equipped with basic needs. Love the ensuite room! For foreigners who has not sleep on tatami before might needs to put some extra efforts on setting up the blankets and pillows. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Nearby hostel there is a few cafe/restaurant but highly recommend to... More

We were an over 60 couple who booked a double room with en suite bath. We were a bit nervous about possible noise from a younger crowd, but that concern turned out to be needless. The room itself was rather small, but smelled so sweet from the tatami mats. Sleeping so low to the floor was a bit awkward, but... More
