Nice facilities, clean and quiet, however the temperature is way too hot and I could not sleep well Also where I was unlucky is that my neighbor started talking to himself, going in and out of the cabin which made the experience uncomfortable...

Its my 2nd time here (the previous one was last summer) and its as awesome as always. The only downside is i have to constantly remind the receptionist to lower down the cabin's temperature(it is centralized btw) coz its kinda hot.this time around i stayed at the first class cabins, which is way more spacious than business class. Pretty much... More

I have been to Kyoto a couple of times staying in different kinds of lodging: youth hostel, franchaised hotels; this visit I picked First Cabin Kyoto solely out of curiosity. I shall start with the location: it's less than 5 mins walk from the Shijo subway Exit 5 and the entrance of first cabin is tucked away in a side... More

My staying in First Cabin was great. The structure is located at walking distance from the Nikishi market and a big shopping and nightlife area, but at the same time in a very quiet street. You can reach the rest of the city by subway in a easy way. The rooms are very clean and modern, as well as the... More

This hotel is very clean and the value for money is amazing. The location is excellent as well because it is a 2 minute walk from a subway station and there are buses within easy reach that will take you to see Kyoto's famous landmarks. The shared bathroom is very well maintained and the shower rooms are private. There is... More

Good location, it's very closed to Shijo subway station and you can walk to Kawaramasu in 5 mins. I booked the first class, the room size is bigger. They also provide towels, toothbrush, slippers etc. They are giving people all the amemities like other 3 star business hotels expect a wooden door and a private bathroom. I could hear moving... Thank you for staying our hotel. We are so glad that you liked the many kind of amenities. Also the clean & tidy bathroom & shower room you mentioned was extremely encouraged us. However, we're afraid that you couldn't take the light sleep. There's many earplugs you can take for free, so please use that if you stay again at... More

I'd been wanting to try capsules for some time now, and quite glad I went with this one as it was extremely tourist friendly! English signs all around, staff with perfectly passable english skills and you are able to keep your things in the capsule during the day (unlike some that require you to check out and take all of... This hotel has a really low price compared with the style and what they provide. It is really clean and the rooms are nice, each has a tv and the bathrooms are shared but also they keep privacy and comfort. At the begining I wasn´t sure to book it but I had no regrets! I enjoyed my stay and also... More

The staff at this hotel are just outstanding. Well beyond the usually high standard of service ubiquitous throughout Japan. I stayed in the first class cabin which has an actual bed and is about the size of a box room.A lot more comfortable than a capsule. The showers are private cubicles, which is another plus point compared to other capsule... More

Thank you for staying at our hotel, and gave us the greatest evaluation. "Not you average capsule hotel!" is the best phrase for us to work for it. We're very glad that you praised our hotel staff. There's a private bathtub whenever you can use if there's empty. The private bath and oil massage is relief for you to take... More

The staff is very attentive even though we arrived very late in the night. One of the receptionists also speak good english which is a plus. Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighborhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
