Before you head over the Capsule Ryokan, I highly recommend that you head over to the Kyoto tourist information centre. They provide you with maps etc. It is worth its weight in gold. The ryokan combines traditional tatami and futon with modern comforts. The room is very small yet extremely organized. The room had wifi and the ryokan offered a small shared kitchen to prepare your breakfast. The staff is very helpful, friendly and speaks good english. Conveniently located 10min walking from kyoto station.
