Capsule Ryokan combines many advantages: very close to Kyoto station, clean, private shower and toilet, very dedicated and helpful staff. You can be guaranteed to have an excellent stay and whatever question you may have, you know a member of the staff will do their best to answer it. In your room, you will find a booklet (prepared specially for... More

I stayed with my spouse in a double tatami room, which had everything we needed for our stay: close location to Kyoto Station and public transport (I recommend you buy a day pass for buses as they were very handy and several stops are close this hostel), comfortable bed, excellent shower, room for our luggage and powerful air conditioning (a... 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. The Receptionist was very welcoming/ informative with great English. We already had a few Temples & touristic places we wanted to see and when I mentioned them, he gave more options, and planed the order based on locations, closing times, and wrote it all down with bus numbers & bus stop names. It was... More

Capsule Ryokan served as a perfect hotel for exploring Kyoto. The single tatami room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff were friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable about the area. The guides in the rooms provided excellent descriptions, directions, and explanations for travelers, but not for "tourists." Lastly, the location was great for exploring the city and getting to the train... More

Stayed in one of the ensure rooms- tiny, but after travelling round japan that is now normal to us! Everything is room is so well thought out- big suitcases fitted comfortably in boxes under the beds, adaptor was already there, futon was very comfortable. The best bit about this hostel though it undoubtedly the service. As soon as we arrived... More

As a first time traveler to Japan and Kyoto, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Capsule Ryokan Kyoto. The location was convenient to the Kyoto Station, dining and gift shops. The staff was extremely helpful and informative of where and how to get around. The accommodations were all that I needed.

The room, location and staff at this hotel are top notch, especially given the price, which is an incredible bargain for Kyoto. The hotel room is incredibly efficient. The room is about big enough for two tatami mats, which roll up when you are done with them. Under the tatami mats is a platform with two storage bins for your... More
