Everything that everyone says about this place is true, and more. It's like living in an enlarged dolls house: the fragile beauty of sliding doors, wooden floors and tiny staircases. We were lucky, being off season, to have the place to ourselves and enjoy its serene beauty. The website is a bit misleading, since it implies that the place is... More

We stayed in Keiko B&B over the Christmas period for our group of 7. I simply love this ryokan for its old charm and the lovely and wonderful host, Keiko. The ryokan is as what most describe - warm, cosy, comfy futon beds. The ryokan is located near Kyoto City Hall subway, about 10 min walk and it's close to... More

I stayed in this Ryokan with my family for around 5 or 6 days before moving on to Osaka. The owner is an extremely nice and friendly lady. The house is around 90 years old and for such an old house it has been very well maintained. Everything is very clean and still in very good condition so no worries... More

We stayed here for three nights in October as part of our two week holiday in Japan. The accommodation is basic but very well located for the price. Breakfast is included at a cafe round the corner. The value however of staying here is the owner, Keiko. She is extremely welcoming, warm and eager to help you make the most... More

I stayed at B&B Keiko for one night in September. The place is in a good location (although a bit hard to find, especially at night) and the house is a wonderful traditional japanese Ryokan (with tatami mattes on the floor and a futon to sleep on). The rooms a spacious and clean, the shared bathroom is clean although it... More

I stayed at Keiko's B&B for 2 days in mid september (2013) with a friend and loved it. Like all other reviews described it, it's a traditional japanese house, with the tatames and sliding doors (beautifully decorated) and futons and old style bathing room. It's spotlessly clean (like most places in Japan btw), and the tatames smell great (I learned... More

My sister and I only stayed here for two days, but I really wished we could have stayed longer! The B&B was a small traditional house with only two rooms, but when we stayed there, we were the only ones and had the whole place to ourselves. Keiko, the host was really friendly and helpful in telling us the locations... More

A traditional Machiya house in a great Kyoto neighbourhood. Keiko is a wonderful host, very lovely, friendly and hospitable, going out of her way to make us feel at home. She also speaks English well, which is helpful. It is not a traditional B&B as you are given keys to the house and there are only 2 rooms- we happened... More

We really enjoyed our stay at B&B Keiko. Keiko is the best. She is very flexible and helpful. This is a budget type of place which is exactly what we usually need. Someplace safe to shower and sleep as we tend to stay out from morning 'til night while on vacation. Keiko met us at the B&B to explain everything... More

This is a lovely little house right in the centre of Kyoto. It only has two guest rooms (so it will never be overcrowded!), plus a shared living room, bathroom and toilet downstairs. Our room was spacious, clean and overlooked the gorgeous little courtyard garden at the back of the house. The owner, Keiko, is really friendly. She sat down... More
