Perfect for wanting more of a traditional Japanese experience! Welcoming, friendly staff. They had just opened their new bar which was great! Also loved the private open air hot tub outside. Would recommend other travellers to stay here.

My partner and I stayed here some years ago, so when we brought some friends to Kyoto we chose this ryokan again. We find the location convenient and in a very old and interesting part of the city. Our friends were delighted with such a traditional Japanese experience (including dressing up in kimonos for photos). It's an easy walk from... More

Small hotel in a quiet city. It was built from a small building. There'll be few rules if you want to stay here such as, door will be lock after 10pm and you'll need a code to enter. Small but cozy room, good bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you took a taxi from Kyoto station it'll cost you... More

Not many places in Kyoto remain authentic, but when we stayed here with friends we had a great welcome and stay all together. they lent us bikes and prepared tea, food....all that you need. They were very hospitable and so were the neighbours for that matter. great place to stay a few days and soak in the atmosphere!

My experience was perhaps a little different, in that I was travelling with a group of 9 people, and we were staying in a separate property attached to this Ryokan which was an entire house, I did not experience the service of the ryokan itself but a couple who I was travelling with had stayed here before and loved it.... I booked last minute, so was happy to have a place to stay. Staff were friendly, but did not go out of their way like other places I experienced. The place was also a bit hard to find! Room was tiny, but I had one that included private restroom, which was nice. Breakfast was only available after 8am. This was... More

I loved this Inn soooo much! The room was small but cozy, the futon was comfy, everything was clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Also loved the girl that helped me with the kimono experience they offer.

My 11 year-old daughter and I stayed here because a friend of a friend, who we had met years earlier, works here. We wanted to stay in a budget ryokan and this fit the bill and more. Mizuki (staff) is wonderful and was such a help to us. The room was a small and cozy traditional tatami room with fold-up... More

This is most friendliest and most helpful place we stayed in our whole trip. It's a small ryokan but you have everything thing u need , the staff can speak fluent English and every thing including remote for the air conditioner was has English labels, I highly recommend it

Wonderfully tucked away, 20 mins walk from the train station, the staff greeted us warmly in their traditional garb. Simple form filling and upstairs to a four tatami mat bedroom with a tiny but very clean bathroom, oh and nice air con!!! Nice and quiet with other guests well behaved, thin walls so everyone is kind and thoughtful. We had... More
