My 11 year-old daughter and I stayed here because a friend of a friend, who we had met years earlier, works here. We wanted to stay in a budget ryokan and this fit the bill and more. Mizuki (staff) is wonderful and was such a help to us. The room was a small and cozy traditional tatami room with fold-up... More

This is most friendliest and most helpful place we stayed in our whole trip. It's a small ryokan but you have everything thing u need , the staff can speak fluent English and every thing including remote for the air conditioner was has English labels, I highly recommend it

Wonderfully tucked away, 20 mins walk from the train station, the staff greeted us warmly in their traditional garb. Simple form filling and upstairs to a four tatami mat bedroom with a tiny but very clean bathroom, oh and nice air con!!! Nice and quiet with other guests well behaved, thin walls so everyone is kind and thoughtful. We had... More

We stayed here in 9 days. On the first floor there was a living room, kitchen and bathroom. We spent a lot of time here, watching TV, planning trips, cooking breakfast and dinner. The kitchen has a microwave, electric stove, a small oven, a big fridge and almost all necessary utensils, very nice and modern. The bathroom was quite spacious,... More

Takes about 15min walking from the Central station (the website has a very good guide on how to find this place). Nagomi is on a quiet street, in a lovely neighbourhood and the staff are friendly. Did not rent bikes from Nagomi, but I think it would be great for getting around. We did go on a bike tour while... More

Nagomi is not for those seeking space, luxury and five star service. But if you want an authentic machi ya experience and really BE in japan, you will love this place as it is charming. You will sleep on the tatami floor, sit on the tatami floor and be in a quiet, typical neighborhood. All the staff speak english and... More

Staff was very helpful during our stay, they provided us handy tips for sightseeing and recommended us to his fav Ramen place in town. Location of the hostel can be a good walk from main road, we rented a bike for 500yen for the day and that make it so much easier for us to get around town. Breakfast from... More

We chose Nagomi as wanted to try a Ryokan on our stay and this had decent reviews. We had a great stay for 3 nights. The rooms are of decent size and even when the futons were rolled out we had enough space for 3 suitcases (1 large & 2 small). We didn't really hear any noise from other rooms... More

Its an experience to stay in a ryokan. Very small room, paper thin wall, make your own bed kinda place. Saying that I slept very well there. Staff are quite nice and helpful. Free wifi when we were there. We had breakfast on the first day but found a restaurant on the main road that serves the same thing cheaper.... More

We stayed there a couple of times and we can't think of staying anywhere else in Kyoto. Good location, not far from kyoto station, quite easy to find, reasonable prices, the rooms are not very big, but the very friendly staff, you can ask them anything and they will do their best to help. Sleep on futons, they have both... More
