I liked the service here - the three different team members we met at reception during our 4 night stay were all extremely friendly and helpful. It's also very much a "no-frills" kind of hotel - don't expect the most modern rooms but they are clean and will have everything you need. I say no frills but the common area... More

Stayed for four nights in Kyoto. Not sure about the previous reviewer, but all the hotel staff I met were very helpful with directions, places to eat etc... It's very clean. You only get room cleaning once a week and towels twice a week but that's not really a problem (I guess unless you're really messy!). This hotel is in... More

The stay was horrible. The staff were not nice and in fact if u stay less then three nights they do not even clean your room, give u new sheets or make ur bed. Not to mention they will not give u a clean towel. In their lobby they do have massage chairs and tea and coffee for free which... More

Close to subway (but ensure you have a map as hard to find someone on street speaking English). Easy check in/out. Large room. Very clean and quiet. Comfortable bed/pillow. Small bathroom but great water pressure. Excellent hotel for cheap price, Short walk to Gion and several shrines.

Located very close to the higashiyama subway stop this hotel is in walking distance to many of the Kyotos main sights. You also have the option to use the bus or subway line. The rooms are clean with AC. Towels and bed linen only changed every third day (which we didn't mind). Beds are a little too hard for my... More

We stayed for four days. The room was small (in keeping with Japanese homes) and beds were comfortable, clean and a/c worked well. It was in the high 80's and hotter when we were there. The staff was helpful. There are good restaurants that have English menus in the area. We got to the hotel from the train station without... More

I stayed at Eco and Tec for 4 nights in June 2014. The hotel is a little tricky to find the first time, but this becomes a plus because it is very quiet. It is close very close to the eastern hills, so you are just a few blocks from major temples. It is also close to the major art... More

Stayed for 3 nites. I tried to figure out some choices of good value for 1 person. This hotel is sure a surprise. Many places are within walking distance. I walked around the shopping area after visiting the shrines in day time. Perfect!

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! Big room (for japanes standards) including a wardrobe so we could finally unpack our bags, great location and friendly staff. I would definately stay again!

I loved this place which offers clean and modern rooms in a quiet area, still very close by the heart of the city and historical sites. They do not clean the room every day nor change the towels, which is usually unnecessary. Nice lobby with massage armchairs, many guides of the area and free coffee and tea.
