Family of 4, we stay at Hotel San Crane for two nights in early December. The room was spacious and my sons love the space afforded to them, there is even a small resting area just outside the toilet for you to sit and blow dry your hair etc. Amenities were great and they even provide branded shampoo and liquid... The hotel located close to Gojo station which is just one station away from the Kyoto station. However, it's quite inconvenient to drag my heavy luggage up the stairs since the station had no elevator. Room was very clean and more spacious than I expected. I believe that it had been renovated in recent years. The bathroom amenities were very... More

I ended up staying at this hotel at the last minute when almost all hotels were sold out in Kyoto. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a small private hotel which in Europe would be classified as a Tourist hotel. It is not part of any chain, it is not luxurious, but it is comfortable and perfect for a... More

This is a hotel that is showing its age a bit, but it is aging gracefully. It is within walking distance of Kyoto Station, but right next to the closest subway station, making it a very easy home base for exploring the city. The staff were very hospitable. Some even spoke a little English. Some of the furnishings look like... More

Hotel Sancrane is located in a central area, within walking distance of Kyoto station and many other stores. The rooms were quite spacious and had a television as well as excellent wi-fi. The staff were very helpful and were quite happy to give detailed directions to attractions as well as bus timetables, etc. I would stay again.

*Please reconsider if you are thinking about this hotel* I have never written a review like this before but felt compelled following the utterly appalling experience I encountered. Firstly, I had paid 270,000 YEN for the evening, which to me is quite a lot of money. As such I expected a certain caliber of hotel to some extent. The room... More

In case the majority of their clients are Americans (they even have only American adapters) the staff does not speak English! Clean room, give a bathrobe. slippers and other amenities.Located in the city center and in 15 minutes walk from the Kyoto station.
