My partner and I recently visited nenrinbo ryokan and we both agreed it was fantastic. The service is top notch and we were very well looked after (especially with breakfast and dinner included). Speaking of food, by the last night we had to leave dinner early because of so much good food we couldn't finish. The staff were all extremely... More

Wonderful ryokan in the northern hills above central Kyoto. I came as a solo traveler during cherry blossom season and was rewarded with a stunning view of a tree in full flower outside of my room. Utterly quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed. This was the perfect ryokan experience.

We really enjoyed the Ryokan experience in Kyoto, the hotel has lovely views (mountain & cherry trees), great staff, indoor clean public bath overlooking mountains and amazing Japanese cuisine (both breakfast and dinner included). Overall, it was a lovely experience. Although it’s far away from the centre (we went by taxi), it’s worth the good views & natural surroundings!

We stayed here 2/14/15 and 2/15/15 and were so absolutely impressed with the level of service we received from every single member of the staff. Most notably, Takahashi san and Noriki san. What amazed me the most about them and Japanese people in general, is that their hospitality and kindness are not driven by tips. In fact one does not... More

Very nice ryokan in Kyoto: excellent and helpful staff, superb Japanese food, great cleanliness. We enjoyed the food and the wonderful public bath. Spending a night in a ryokan is a must during a holiday in Japan: Nerimbo is warmly recommended! The only bad aspect is that the ryokan is a little far from Kyoto centre.

I booked this ryokan spontaneously due to a change of plans, and was more than pleasantly surprised. It's tucked away in a quiet residential area near some mountains, so it's not all that accessible by bus/train, but that worked for us as we enjoyed the peace and quiet. It's near enough to Kinkaku-ji and a few other shrines/temples, and quite... More

Stayed for 3 nights, service was excellent, and without spoiling it for most, they had some other services not found in conventional hotels. Rooms were pretty good and stylish, yet looks traditional. Meals are quality, and of huge quantities of Japanese food. You might not like the food if you're not used to their traditional food, as it is really traditional Japanese... More

Well I stayed here in our trip to Kyoto in March with my friends. Room was quite large (or beacause it had no bed so it seemed large) and comfortable. Some of my friends couldn't got used to the Janpanese style room, they got used to sleeping on bed, but for me, it's fine. Room had only basic funiture, no... More

We have never been treated so well anywhere else in the world. The service exceeded all our expectations. The staff people were the nicest people we have ever met. The rooms where nice clean japanese style rooms. We went to Kyoto for 4 days and it was also our first trip to Japan. Arriving from Tokyo we were expecting to... More
