Great food, great service, great spa and fabulous view. Will definitely recommend to everyone. The best choice for enjoying mt. Fuji with hot spring and authentic Japanese kaiseki. You will be shocked by the mt Fuji unscrolling in front of you in the big red Fuji pool.

First time at a ryokan and kyoto. Some may find the place a bit out of the way but it is great as it is away from the "mad" tourist crowds and peaceful. The hotel has a daily shuttle to take you to the town. The hotel staff are also great in suggesting options on transport and sights to visit... More

Aside from being out of the way a bit, this ryokan was highly enjoyable. The service was very good, and the staff were very accommodating. They have a gift shop in the lobby and two separate public baths. There is a smaller one that's a bit more private, and a larger one. Public bath are separated by mens and women.... More

A nice place to stay. It's in a lovely location in the hills, aka at the top of a hill if you're walking! The service and rooms were good, however when we stayed last month the gardens were closed. Staying in Northern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Northern Kyoto
Hot springs and historic temples characterize the leafy landscapes of Northern Kyoto. Acres of tranquil residential streets are interrupted by some of Kyoto's most gorgeous architectural gems, including the majestic Golden Pavilion of Kinkakuji, the serene artistry of the Ryoanji Temple rock gardens, and the bold red paint across the structures of Enryakuji Temple. Once a religious core of the city, the district now boasts some of its most remote and peaceful hot springs, as well as a few of its best family-run mom-and-pop restaurants. A blend of extremely local at its outskirts, and highly peopled at its tourist centers, Northern Kyoto nonetheless retains a halcyon air in harmony with nature.
