I had a big room, not at a Hilton level but i couldn't complain. It didn't come cheap as for 2 nights i spent 15000yen, my most expensive stay in japan. However i reccomand it. 2 minutes away by walk from the station, 10-15 minutes by bus to gion.

Our first experience of Japanese ryokan was special here, in this gorgeous side street just near the station. The rooms very clean and well presented and the staff were really helpful with maps and directions, even though we didn't speak Japanese. They were really nice to the kids. Right in the middle of town, close to all kinds of shopping... More

If your looking for a traditional Japanese experience, without the matching price tag then this is the hotel for you. The location is perfect. Just across from the main Kyoto Station, if your doing day trips it is ideal. Also lots of shops and dining options on the street and in the underground malls. Very friendly staff during check at... 2 minutes from train station (previous entry) only if you obey the cross-walk lights (like the citizens do). It's literally across the street but 1/4 block down an alley so it's quiet even though the main thoroughfare goes right by. As a result, not much for scenery. The rooms are traditional ryoko which I think everyone needs to try at... More

Looking for a Ryokan/tatami experience with quality service, strategic location and more economical price - this is the best place!! The ryokan is only 2 minutes away from the main Kyoto station, conveniently walking distance to the Kyoto station where the local bus station are located as well. Getting around Kyoto is so easy with a daily bus pass of... More

One of the few places we could find that had vacancy during a busy Spring break/Hanami season. Literally across the street from the train station, so it made a great spot as a base for exploring. However, our room was quite dingy and homely. A lot of sounds from the other rooms, and everything seemed worn. Decent enough staff- helpful... More

We had a very clean privat japanese style room for two and liked it a lot. Was very close to train station but still very quiet area and had some very good restaurants near by. Normally bath with tube split by gender but if not so many bookings, you can use the bath with partner and close door. Only inconvinient... More
