I (Swiss living in Singapore with extensive Asia traveling experience) stayed at the Nissho Besso Ryokan (traditional Japanese Guesthouse) for 1 night with my wife and 20 months old child, extending a business trip I had in Kobe. I booked the guesthouse through kyotoguesthouses.com and they were very nice and helpful. The agent even sent me an email one day... more
