It's very convenient to take a bus to shopping and scenery spot. You can buy food and drink at a good price in a small grocery store near by. Staff are polite and friendly. Free massage seats and public bathroom are on the 1st floor . A+ absolutely.

It was snowing every day when we stayed in Kyoto this time, but we were happy enough with our room(air-con was perfectly controllable according to your preferred temperature), which was cleaned thoroughly every day. The reception staff were always polite and professional. What touched us most was after we left Japan. We happened to find that my husband left his... More

I stayed here for 10 nights as a solo female traveler and am very happy with this choice. Great location, can walk to downtown shopping strip in 10 minutes and bus stops to everywhere just a minute or two away. Friendly and helpful staff, can't comment on English ability as I speak Japanese. Rooms cleaned thoroughly every day and facilities... More

I thought it was particularly gross that i had a beige blanket on the bed and you could see visible stains on it. This doesnt mean it wasnt clean but i prob shouldve asked for a new blanket because its not nice to see. It was a small room, but thats japan. I was fine as a single but if... More

Excellent location for exploring Kyoto, especially for shopping! The hotel rooms are very comfortable and spacious for Japan and our adult daughter loved the spa facilities. The staff spoke good English and were very polite and helpful. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed.

Very good location with lots of restaurants and places to go. The hotel is close to bus and subway station what makes all the visits a lot easier. The price was fair, efficient staff and free wifi. Totally recommended!!!

I stayed at this hotel in Kyoto for 4 nights. It is well located near the main shopping street and within a few block of the subway as well. The rooms are small by American standards but more than adequate by Japanese standards and really large enough. I got lost on my way to the hotel but that was more... More

Two of us stayed in the hotel for 7 nights in Oct 2013. I booked the last twin room online via booking.com in May. By the end of the trip we realized it was an outstanding choice for us. Beware there are other similar name hotels in other parts of town. Why strategic location? Our itineraries for one week included... More

I originally went to the Garden Hotel which is something entirely wrong. The front desk man helped me make my way here, to the right hotel but I soon realized the address I had for this hotel though correct would not lead me to the actual hotel on Google maps which proved to be a large inconvenience when getting around.... A great hotel with a nice lobby but small rooms. The breakfast was really fantastic and the spa was great. It took some time to check in as the employees did not understand much English. The location is great, short walk to the food market and Gion.
