Had a bit of trouble finding it, just because of where it showed up on our google map versus where it's actually located. When we did find it we were very pleasantly surprised at how clean the hotel was, how friendly the staff was and it was in a great location. I would definitely stay here again if I return... More

Got to this hotel earlier in the morning after catching the bullet train from Tokyo and they won't let me check in until 3pm, which is normal for Japan. Also very important book a "NON SMOKING ROOM" But they will put your suitcase into storage until you return. The receptionist was very helpful and her English was fair. She directed me... More

It was a last minute booking, and it was really convenient in price and location, Clean, Good Service and it is near the subway, there is a convenience store just downstairs, you can go by foot anywhere, I recommend it

Good location and price. It is not high price in Kyoto hotels. The hotel is 8 minutes walk from Karasuma railway station. Or 25minutes walk from Gion. There are supermarket and convenience store nearby. The staff can speak English and they are kind. The room is not roomy, but clean. I had get a lot of service.Wifi-free spot, deodorizing spray,... More

The hotel is situated in a nice spot in the city centre, the ideal position to visit Kyoto. Bus stop is just outside the entrance. Rooms are tiny for European standards however they are clan, warm and newly furnished. Go for it!

We stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel was clean and decent, despite the rooms being slightly small. The location however was great, within 10 minutes walk of the karasuma railway station and 15 mins down to the central area of shijo street, where all the major departmental stores and shopping can be done. Breakfast was not the best,... More

Not the newest hotel in the city. The rooms are small and a tad to narrow for a tall 193cm person like myself. Prices are pretty much the same around the city so I would recommend staying across the street at the "Mystay". The food is not bad if you get a meal included in your stay.

I found hairs everywhere (shower, floor, table...). Cigarette smell. No wifi. Super expensive for what they give you! My impression was that this hotel was a very bad copy of any Toyoko's hotel. The location was ok. The front desk clerk was kind. In general my stay at this hotel was not good, I would not recommend this place to... More

This hotel was very easy to find, close proximity to many cafes and shops, and walkable to such areas as Pontocho and Gion. Check-in wasn't until 15:00, we arrived at 14:00 o'clock and they wouldn't budge, so that was a little annoying. Room was clean, albeit shoebox sized--the two person bed may have been a bit of a stretch by... More

This hotel should really be called the "Neutral Expression Hotel Kyoto Shijo". It's like most mid tier hotels in Japan. Small, clean, but kind of run down and smokey. The main reason I gave this a 3 star review was the breakfast. It sucked so bad. Now I know western breakfast in Japan is normally just a disaster, but this... More
