This hotel was perfectly located for convenience and sightseeing. After a tiring day of travel, it was a relief to arrive at the station and take a short escalator ride to the hotel. We picked up delicious food in the basement of Isetan department store (a great experience to visit in any case) and had dinner in our room. Our... More

first of all, if you are coming into kyoto by train, location is very convenient being that it's right on top of the station. staff was friendly and helpful and spoke very good english. room was clean, modern, plush and very comfortable. english speaking concierge helped us out a lot. although our room over looked the train tracks, you could... We stayed in a double twin room (two twin beds) on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and paid around 40,000 yen total (about $200 USD per night). We were pretty certain that we wanted a hotel around the station and so had also researched other hotels in the area, such as the New Miyako, Kyoto Tower, etc. Granvia was the best... More

This hotel is an adventure in itself. It is located inside the Kyoto Rail station, which reminded me of a mother ship in sci-fi movies, with constantly moving escalators from ground level to what seems like infinity; sky walks, glass roofs; people appeared to be like small ants in comparison with the structure of the building – it really was... Stayed at this hotel May 27-30 and was pleased all-around. Booked a Superior room with City View through the hotel website for only $150/night and was pleased with the quality room and location. The location can't be beat, directly located above the Kyoto station. The room was quiet even though it was above the station and it was quite luxurious.... More

The hotel has a great location. It is right on the JR and local lines. Taking buses around Kyoto is easy as the bus terminal is also at the Granvia's doorstep. This makes sightseeing around Kyoto very convenient. There are several adjacent shopping malls, like Isetan, that have all the necessary amenities. The only downside is a lack of good... More

I was on a buisness trip and decided to stay at Granvia hotel in Kyoto. Other hotels were not at the "main station", but as I was supposed to commute every day, I thought why not... I was a bit surprised to see the size of the main station complex, of which Granvia Hotel was one part... Just there was... More

I made a reservation for a non-smoking superior room through the hotel's website over one month ago and received a great rate for a 5 day stay. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that they were sold out and all they had available was a standard smoking room. Due to allergies, I could not stay in the... More

Excellent location at the Kyoto station. Just arrived on the Shinkasen Nozumi train and walked into the hotel. Was unable to book the hotel on the internet as they had a website servicing on the day that I was leaving home for Japan. Walked in and asked for the best rate after explaining the difficulty I had with the internet... More

We arrived in Kyoto very late from Kansai airport by train, only had 2 full days in Kyoto, and had to catch the first train the next day back to Kansai. The Granvia Hotel was the most convenient option we had, and turned out to be a great choice. The hotel shares a modernistic building with the train station and... More
