I recently spent three nights at the Kyoto Granvia in a 'City View Superior Twin-Room' (920) on the 9th floor. It was quite a hike from the lift, down very long corridors. Our view was of the taxi-rank (!) and main road, with a snow-flecked mountain range visible on the horizon. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious, finished... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel. We were worried about it based on the TripAdvisor reviews we had read but our experience was great. I've stayed at 5-star hotels and this isn't one, but its a solid 3-star. Its location is incredibly convenient, right above the train station, and adjacent to the bus station. The room... More

Booked via AsiaRoom, 2 nights in double room, double occupancy for £262 on Fri and Sat nights. Arrived from Tokyo about 9pm, by the time we had checked in, taken a quick shower, we went in search of food. Massive disappointment as all the hotel restaurants barring the "buffet" were shut/shutting and would not accept us. We found a nice... More

My son (age 10) and I stayed at the Granvia earlier this week -- and can definitely confirm all the other reviews that talk highly of this hotel... beautiful... clean... great location... delicious food (and outstanding coffee)... Only issue was that they don't allow kids in the pool (yes, after I complained we were allowed to swim from 7am -... More

The location of the hotel is right in the station, which in itself is worth a look. It is very easy to get to all parts of Kyoto from the station as there is a subway line, JR lines and lots of buses. There are also lots of places to eat there including the 11th floor above the station where... More

My husband and I stayed at the Granvia for one night. What a fanastic location! This hotel is located within the Kyoto JR station premises so it's perfect for a short stay and early getaway. A 5 to 10 minute taxi drive gets you into the entertainment district (1050 yen) and, given the hotel's location at the station, there are... More

An amazing place to stay, the Granvia had beautiful rooms, the most comfy beds with the fluffiest doonas I had ever seen and fantastic views of Kyoto (we stayed in a room fairly high up). Not only could you access a range of shops like Isetan and The Cube, (great for picking up a cheap but oh so yummy dinner... More

Three of us stayed in two rooms for 3 nights in Dec. 07. The location of the hotel in the train station was ideal for us as we were planning to take day trips using our JR Pass. The rooms are a reasonable size with a decent bathroom. The shower/bath area is separately enclosed in glass doors and a good... More

Hotel was ok, clean and well serviced rooms but I would have chosen Westin Miyako (room rates about the same). The hustle and bustle at the train station somewhat didn't jive with the peace and tranquility i expected in Kyoto. If decide to stay in Granvia, please ask for rooms at higher floors as rooms at lower floors offer mainly... More

We stayed here 3 nights 4 Dec thru 6 Dec 2007 and enjoyed every minute! We were 3 adults to a room (with a rollaway) however the rollaway was almost same size as regular bed. The bedding was extremely comfortable. And due to the large size of the room - there was plenty of room for the 3 of us!... More
