Ideal location above the station. Large rooms with the most comfortable beds and pillows. real western bathroom. Great views. Very modern. Helpful staff. But no English speaking television channel. CNN was translated into Japanese! Hanging out for a swim but they charge $12 US for the privilege! The best western style hotel we stayed at in Japan by far.

the location makes the hotel a no brainer. its a very nice hotel. it was completely quiet for us. and you save a butt load on taxi costs due to its location. (ie taking the bus and subway) it also makes it much easier to get around great staff. good choice

This place is great. Wonderful location and friendly, welcoming staff. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with terrific views. Location could not be better for traveling around Kyoto

I spent 6 days at Granvia Kyoto... Imagine coming out of Shinkansen ( bullet train) and walking straight into a 5 star hotel! Imagine that the hotel is part of a very modern complex of restaurants, shopping centres! That is what Granvia Kyoto is. I loved it. There is a whole floor in the basement for sweets and bellow another... More

Location is by far the most convenient of any hotel in Kyoto. This place is integrated into the second largest train station in Japan. You can get to anywhere in the city or the country steps outside the hotel. The hotel itself is an architectural masterpiece. It's awesome just to look at from the street and from inside the train... We stayed for 4 nights and can highly recommend staying here, both for the quaility of the hotel and the convenient train station location which is perfect for subway access to the rest of Kyoto and for a relatively easy transfer on your arrival from the bullet train (this being Japan, the station is a huge labyrinth of a place...
