I have stayed at this hotel several times during trips to Japan. It is so conveniently located right at the main JR train station in Kyoto, that it makes it all worth it. A big modern high rise hotel, but calm and peaceful and really with everything, so an excellent choice. We travelled between Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, so it... More

Definitely above anything else this hotel's location is its very best. Are you flying to Kyoto? Probably not. Train? Most likely. If you are arriving by train, then chances are you will arrive at Kyoto Station, therefore this hotel is a good choice given that once you get here, you will not have to move, just a flight of escalators... I am sceptical about conference hotels as they are usually not of a very high standards. I am, however, very impressed by Hotel Granvia Kyoto. It is in an excellent location right above the JR Station and by the bus station. There are subway, shops and restaurants underground. The staff are all very polite and friendly. The room I stayed... If you need to travel to different areas near Kyoto, this hotel will fit most as it's location is so centralized. simply take the escalator at your right from the central exit of JR station, you will reached the lobby, Hassle free even with bulky luggage. And the central bus stop is just downstairs, can reached most of the scenery... More

We spent 5 days at the Granvia on our first trip to Japan and it was an excellent starting point. Situated within/against the side of Kyoto Railway Station it was close to everything - shopping in the basement, shopping centre around, transport on the doorstep. Top of the range Japanese toilets in all rooms and lobby, all very clean, room... More

Great location with good service and amenities. We got a std room which was a great size and beautiful view of Kyoto tower. For a first the visitor the location was great ...no worries at all you are always the centre of everything. We ate away from the area most days as the restaurants around were pretty generic.

Exodus Package Tour, with this Hotel picked for us. Not disappointed, as coming from Tokyo on the Shinkansen, this Hotel sits above/within the Kyoto Station Complex. On arrival, staff were very polite and helpful...English was widely spoken with the staff. Sadly, we had to change rooms, and wound up with a double bed the size of a shoebox...either that or... I've always considered location and cleanliness to be top priorities when choosing a hotel, and this hotel excels in both of them. I've paid much more in many places, but I must say it's pretty hard to beat this place. Booked direct from the hotel website which had cheaper prices than any of your usual third-party websites. Travelled solo in... More

We stayed here for a few days while visiting Kyoto for fun. The hotel is directly located on top of the main train station in Kyoto, which means virtually all city buses and regional trains all stop here. Only one subway line does, but the subway is actually less helpful for seeing the sights of Kyoto than the buses are.... More

This is a big hotel. Very conveniently located above the station. It's very well appointed and seems to run very efficiently for the size. Lobby is very busy with guests coming and going. Room was fine, very comfortable but nothing special. Very nice bed and bathroom, one of the better hotels I've stayed in Japan. Due to it's size this... More
