We stayed in Kyoto on November 8 for four nights. The Granvia Hotel in Kyoto is centrally located with everything at your doorstep. Like many others have said, you come off the Shinkhansen or any other local train, and within 5 minutes you're in the hotel. Rooms are very neat and tidy and refreshed towels changed daily. Room was very clean... More

We got the impression that Granvia has very high ambitions (partly due to prices...), but felt that the hotel could not live up to these ambitions. It is a very large hotel and it seems like quite a lot is lost with the size. Breakfast was expensive and so-so managed. Loved Kyoto, but will choose another hotel next time.

Located inside the Kyoto station and central to all your food and entertainment options. We wouldn't want to stay elsewhere in Kyoto. Clean, huge, quality options for rooms. 5 star service. Catch your tours from a nearby hotel. Priced right relative to other options. Peace of mind. In room safe, speedy wifi. Well maintained. Indoor pool is not recreational however... More

Stayed one night in one of the most expensive yet one of the best hotels in Kyoto which is situated near the Kyoto Station by the name of "Hotel Granvia." This hotel has all the facilities like any other 5 star hotel. The entire Hotel staff are very polite and helpful and always welcome each and every guests with a... More

Although I primarily selected the Granvia for its location (on top of Kyoto station - not itself an attractive area, but a transit hub), I was favorably impressed by the hotel. It almost certainly a 5-star facility, although during our brief stay we did not put many of its services to the test. Because we booked long in advance, the... More

Frankly, also possibly the best hotel we've stayed in anywhere (and that includes quite a range of places). My husband says he'd like to retire and live in this hotel! Lots of handy restaurants in the 'train station' center, a department store, access to trains to everywhere in Japan. Super room, great staff, lovely swimming pool we both used. The... More

We stayed here our first night in Kyoto and visiting Fushimi-Inari was made easy by a direct train. Visiting Arashiyama would be equally easy, again by a direct train. Access to Higashiyama is via Raku tourist-oriented bus. The staff here was polite and efficient although it's a bit unnerving when the staff stop and bow as you pass them in... More

Great location, easy accessibility, station on doorstep with a vast underground shopping mall with a good variety of restaurants. Even though it is a very large hotel the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room which was very tastefully decorated.

I say almost perfect because of the silly building design. I'm a fit guy and I love a good walk, but I also tend to rush out the door and forget things, and need to return to the room multiple times sometimes in one day... and this is punishing when you have to walk 600m or more to your room... Stayed for 5 nights at this hotel. All the needs I requested were granted: 3 rooms beside each other, wheel chair for my mother used during our private tours, rooms near the elevator, shopped items wrapped for airplane check-in, and bell hop service to the train station despite our very early morning train to Kansai airport. We stayed in superior... More
