The Granvia Hotel is connected to the massive Kyoto Station which connects travelers to everything Kyoto has to offer. Together, the hotel, train station, shopping mall and dozens of restaurants create a busy place that appealed to our senses. The room was lovely, shower superb, the bed comfortable. The breakfast buffet caters to both western and Asian tastes and was... More

My wife and I booked a king bed room well in advance, but we arrived to find a small room with two twin beds, a terrible view, and some general disrepair. I returned to the front desk and notified the hotel of the mistake, but they claimed to have no other rooms available. I returned to the room, emailed management,... More

We recently took a 5 day family holiday from Shanghai to Kyoto with my wife's family from England. I had stayed here years earlier and was delighted to return again. The hotel staff was very attentive to our needs without hesitation. Classic Japanese service and such a contrast to mainland China service where we live. Enjoyed close proximity to trains,... More

I stayed at this hotel in my own and was keen to find out where the great spots were to visit as well as needing specific help with my onward travel arrangements. All I can say is that the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. They gave me excellent advice about places to see and things to do as... More

I just returned from a girls' trip to Kyoto. This hotel was perfect for what we needed - great location at the top of the train station, comfortable rooms, plenty of amenities, and friendly English-speaking staff that helped us with all of our daily activities. It was so incredibly easy, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting... More

This was my 2nd time back at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto, and there's a reason I'd stay here over any where else: location and staff. You just can't beat being right at Kyoto station, especially if you're wanting to travel anywhere in or outside of Kyoto. The main bus and train station are literally within footsteps of the hotel. True,... More

Love this hotel. Located in Kyoto Station. Two adults and one baby, we were given a spacious room with comfortable double beds and a great view. Stayed five nights and were sad to leave. Breakfast buffet was superb. Go early to avoid lines.

It's great if you are arriving on the Sinkansen you can literally jump off the train and be in the hotel within 5 minutes. Large rooms and good breakfast choice my only complaint was that it was impossible to get seats in either of the bars for a party of 6. If you prefer a more tranquil breakfast head to... More

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and it turned out to be a great choice. it is right inside the main station terminal, but surprisingly not noisy at all. The room was large, being more used to Tokyo this seemed to be a big bonus. Of course it was spotless and pristine, as most of the hotels and... More

I have been to many hotels in Japan over the years and this one is fantastic. Perfect for those travelling from city to city on the JR Pass. The caveat is - as with all hotels in Japan - do you want the Japanese experience or just a good clean central hotel. This is a great western style Japanese flavour... More
