Cons: - WiFi is a joke I wasn't able to even download my emails. We were told that was because too many people were using the WiFi. Thankfully, there was an internet cable to connect our computer - During busy hour (around 8:30), we had to wait in line for about 20 min for breakfast - Access to gym and... More

Stayed 2 nights at the Kyoto Granvia, great location above the Kyoto JR Station which means one does not have to travel far in the winter cold upon stepping out of the JR train. Rooms are large and comfortable with a good breakfast buffet spread. There are plenty of shops to pick up gifts and food items as well as... More

I cannot reccommend this place highly enough! Perfect location at the station, it is almost like a city itself. The staff are unbelievable- efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and sooooo helpful. A choice of 6 restaurants, we managed to try 4, are all excellent in service and food to die for. You must try the Teppanyaki, it is an experience not to... More

Had to stay in 4 hotels over 5 nights in the Kansai region....and by far this was the best experience! Great location just over the station....front desk and other staffs are incredibly friendly...the room was quite spacious in Japanese standard...and the view of the city was perfect....it was a comfortable abode! ....Restaurants were great! .......And they offered a complimentary bottle... Definitely a high-class place, but it should be with the high prices they charge. The room, and the service, are definitely good. And best of all (as many others have said) is the very central and convenient location. Only one small problem, I asked for an iron and ironing board and got tiny almost useless contraptions - they said that's... More

A fantastic hotel! Great service, very comfortable rooms, and a huge buffet breakfast. The location is terrific (right at the train station, but completely quiet) and dozens of great restaurants within walking distance. The afternoon tea in the hotel lobby was exceptional.

This hotel is perfectly located being right above Kyoto station. We found it a perfect base especially as we took day trips to Nara and Hiroshima so only having to take the escalator down to the station was so convenient. The concierge here is also amazing and go above and beyond to help. For instance, when I asked for help... More

The restaurants and lobby are all nice, it's the rooms that are run down and out of date. But even with that, the central location inside the Kyoto train station cannot be beat and the cost per night isn't bad. They have a great concierge, so that was a big plus. Had I not done all my previous research on... More

We have stayed at The Granvia twice now and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From arriving on the Shinkansen to hotel reception takes about 5 minutes so no dragging suitcases around the city. The staff are amazing. Their command of English is excellent and they cannot do enough for you. The rooms have amazing views over the... More

This hotel is located in the Kyoto Station and attached to great Japanese shopping and dining. Outdoor escalators take you to the top of the structure to see a city view of Kyoto ( Nice place to see sunset) and 11 floors of the Isetan department store. A stage with stadium seating of about 6 floors with a great view... More
