The hotel is really comfortable and really well located. Rooms are great and cosy. The standard of service is great too and I want to give special credit to moriguchi who has gone out of her way to repair my suitcase that had been damaged in the flight. If you want a nice hotel in Kyoto you should go to... More

This is usually out of our price range but Kyoto was completely full when we stayed so we had to go upmarket! As a luxury hotel every amenity was perfect. We stayed in a queen room. The location within Kyoto Station is a real bonus and this would be a good romantic holiday hotel choice.

This was our first trip to Kyoto and the Granvia was booked as part of a package. We were very pleased with the location and room. It made a perfect base of operations for seeing the many shrines in Kyoto and the beautiful fall foilage. The concierge was very helpful providing directions and recommendations. One draw back was the limited... More

The hotel It is conveniently located inside Kyoto station so it worked out pretty well for since we took the JR lines to Arashiyama and Nara. The stations offers plenty of shops and restaurants so there's plenty of stuff to do. The rooms are bigger that most hotel rooms in Japan and the beds were very comfortable. Checking in/out was... The hotel is housed in the Kyoto Station complex, very convenient for travellers. It is also very busy & lively around the hotel with guests and commuters criss-crossing the complex. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to nearby shops and restaurants. It's easy to catch a taxi with a huge taxi stand outside the hotel complex. The Noodle... More

Stayed in Mar'14 for 4 nights on a business trip. Located just above Kyoto railway station, but surprisingly quiet environment with good views. Rooms are sufficiently large & comfortable.Breakfast is sufficiently large spread.Couldn't try other facilities at hotel due to time constraints. Will surely recommend for business or personal trip.

Presumably owned by JR this hotel evokes the Victorian splendour of rail travel, which, of course is still evident in Japan & Switzerland. Located above the station we had a room with train/city views. A swift check in after travelling from Takayama we found our bags from Tokyo awaiting us in the room. We spent five nights in this magnificent... More

This hotel was convieniently located at Kyoto station and so if you are basing yourself in Kyoto and want to travel elsewhere or if you are only there for a short stay it is in a good place. It is also very handy for the underground and the bus station so for transport the lcoation really cannot be beaten. However,... More

Excellent service especially if you're travelling with kids. They will have all you need for your child. I really enjoyed the spacious bathroom and also the view. Very central and also close to the shopping center with the famous food court. All buses depart from the railway station so very easy to plan and to go for visits. I would... More

Firstly the best part about the hotel is the location. Being right next to the train station makes it easy an easy commute to Osaka, Arashiyama and the airport. There were plenty of places to eat around the area. We love the ramen corner. http://www.insidekyoto.com/kyoto-ramen-koji The negative is the room that we stay in was very small and basic. Would...
