Great location next to the station. We decided to stay in Kyoto at the last minute, so we made reservations sitting in the lobby via wifi literally five minutes before checking in. We were upgraded to a room on the exclusive Granvia Floor on the top floor of the hotel for no charge. The room was large, comfortable, and very... More

Not only is it in a great location - the main train station in Kyoto - therefore easily accessable and easy to go from there to various citys and sites, the rooms are spacious, and well provided for - down to the smallest details - as in slippers you use and then take home! And of course all other needed... More

This is a very luxurious hotel adjacent to Kyoto station. This makes checking in and departing by train very easy. Despite its location I was never aware of trains or buses when inside the hotel. The rooms were large and well-appointed, and the beds very comfortable. The views we had were of the Kyoto Tower. The rooftop bar was elegant... More

Located in the Kyoto station the Granvia is a beautiful hotel, excellent rooms and room service, excellent concierge and well the best hotel and location of our current Japanese holiday - nothin was too much trouble, most staff had rudimentary english skills and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt relaxed

I stayed at Hotel Granvia for one night in March with my two daughters. The room was fine and the hotel huge. I do not consider this a luxury hotel, especially compared to other hotels in Japan. I was underwhelmed by the room and it took quite a while to get to our room from the elevator. The location at... More

Stayed 5 nights in March 2015. You can not beat the location, either as a base for day trips to Nara, Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima, etc. or just for exploring Kyoto itself. The hotel is located directly above the Kyoto train station, the subway and bus terminal. Between the subway and bus #206 you can easily reach all of the major... More

Centrally located and well appointed, this hotel had everything we needed for an exploration of Kyoto. In fact, the JR centre in which it was located was a city in itself that we had to make the effort to get out and find other foods etc. The room size and bathroom were good, the staff efficient and accommodating, and the... Can't beat the location if you are out and about. The Shinkansen to/from Tokyo is right out the door, as is the Haruka Express to KIX Airport. Also plenty of buses and a train line. A very big hotel so nothing seems very personal, but typical Japanese formality and service. Breakfast was okay, only had it one day. Rooms were... More

Out of the 4 hotels we used in our trip, this was our favorite. Not only that they have big rooms, their location is the best. Being inside the big Kyoto station, we had the flexibility of going back to our hotel whenever we like to. All we needed to do was hop on to the next available train /... More

My husband and I recently traveled to Kyoto for a 36 hour stay. This hotel is conveniently located about the Kyoto JR station. Surprisingly, there was no extra noise and our room was very quiet. The location cannot be beat. Just outside across the street from the bus station is a Starbucks - which was our beacon after traveling for... More
