A very clean, friendly hotel with an ideal location inside Kyoto station. We stayed there 3 nights in April as part of a three week holiday in Japan and were upgraded which was lovely. I don't normally take time to review hotels but I wanted to do so particularly because we received very good service from all the staff and... More

We stayed there with our first 7 months old baby and it was a very good experience. Incredible size rooms for japan standards and full of comfort (they even placed a machine to store used diapers!) Huge hotel with an inmediate access to kyoto railway station that makes this hotel a great headquarter to quick visits along the country using... More

I promised myself, during my many visits to Japan, that I would stay here -- and now I did, for four wonderful nights. It's especially nice if you're arriving late from Kansai Airport by train -- you can just walk to hotel reception. And if you're doing a lot of JR-Pass traveling within Japan, this is a great base, since... More

Grand type hotel, great location, excellent facilities. There a a few tired areas, but they keep it as updated as possible. Good restaurants, co-located with Kyoto station, you probably can't beat it in its class. A not a boutique type hotel.

Booking at the last minute, we paid a premium price for Club rooms here. So we were happy to find that Hotel Granvia Kyoto lived up to our expectations and more. From the efficient check-in, to the perky young lady who showed us to our rooms and the bell hop who helped her bring up our luggage, the service was... More

Wow. What a place. Conveniently situated inside Kyoto station ( not that you would know - we never heard or saw a train during our entire stay) which in of itself is a wonder to behold. It's a gigantic modern art installation with a roof soaring 250/300 feet above the station floor. Hundreds of shops, restaurants scattered throughout a sprawling... More

We booked early so we got a good rate but otherwise it can be very spendy if walk in rack rate. Our room was spacious, comfortable beds, immaculate and great city views but best of all it is right in the station with many amenities. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs including food allergies. Very... More

A luxurious conveniently, spacious rooms, great views and good service plus optional buffet breakfast on premise Japanese or Western style in one. Plus other restaurants inside including Italian. If it rains or too hot to walk outside, the huge mall below offers shopping galore and a variety if foods - not to mention the elevators and escalators to the too... More

We caught the Shinkasen from Tokyo after a long flight from Australia. We really appreciated the perfect location making it easy for us to manage our luggage off the train, the station building is amazing . We were able to walk to Gion, catch the train to Inari and fit in shopping in the largest electronic store we have ever... More

After arriving in Japan that morning and catching the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto this hotel is perfectly placed for any foreign traveller looking to use their JR Pass. We would have liked to have given this hotel five stars but there were a couple of small things that annoyed us during our four night stay. This is a big... More
