We stayed at this hotel for three nights when we were on our honeymoon. The Ryokan is ideally located just a five minute walk from Kyoto Station with rail and bus links. The Ryokan is modern but still retains the charm of a traditional inn with Japanese style rooms and hot spring baths. The Ryokan was scruptilously clean and the... More

We stayed one night because other ryokans were full (hopefully we did not plan to stay there more) for one triple room and charge were 4600 yen per person. Far from nice ryokans we went to in Kyoto Kobe Osaka & Nara where you can have your own room + private bathroom under 4000y The manager was in a hurry... More

Booking: Via email and confirmation was rather fast Location: Short walk from Kyoto Station Room: Quite spacious compared to others in Japan. Clean and beautiful deco. Service: very personal service Com: got to get out of room from 10 to 3pm. But i guess they do this in order to maintain the very high level of cleanliness.

The Kyoraku Ryokan is really wonderful, the very best ryokan we stayed at during our 4 week trip through Japan. The owners are extremely friendly and the house is very well kept and clean. The rooms are quite big (ours even had a little table and 2 chairs in it, which is seldom in Japan). The bathroom facilities are spottless... More

Close to the station, very clean, and recently renovated. It's also quiet for being in the middle of the city. This ryokan provides all the basic necessities, but also a couple of more modern amenities to make your stay enjoyable. To beat the summer heat, there's air conditioning. To research sightseeing and plan other side trips, there's Internet, both on... More

We stayed four nights at this lovely inn during a round trip in Japan. We booked this ryokan to try some genuine Japanese housing and it turned out to be a great experience. Booking was made by e-mail and all our questions were promptly answered. The family who runs the place is extremely service minded. The young man speaks good... More

This Ryokan was good value, economic & in a good location. Although the rooms were small they were comfortable for a few nights stay. The location was within easy walking distance from the rail station and in a quiet street. Very nice hosts

I stayed here for first 6 nights in Japan. I have ensuite bath room. The room is small but very clean. 2 free internet PC with chair (sufficient for guest using). Free wifi too but I don't have a notebook. My room is quiet, btw. I heard a loud noise from some guests while I surf internet. Don't forget to... More

We started our first visit to Japan by spending two nights in ryokan Kyoraku. Before our journey we made a large e-mail search for vacant rooms, due to the hanami high season almost all reasonable price ryokans were already full booked, but fortunately there was one vacant family-room in Kyoraku. Conversation via e-mail was easy, the answers and confirmation came... More

We very much enjoyed our time at this little inn. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which more than met our needs. There are laundry facilities in the inn, as well as a breakfast room - although we never used the latter, as we were out sightseeing early in the day. There... More
