Stayed 2 nights. If you attempt to drag your big luggage from the nearest subway station to this apartment like I did, its at least a good tiring 15mins walk. Get direction and take a bus from Kyoto station. There is a bus stop near to the apartment. Lifts going up and down always stop at 2nd floor irregardless whether... More

I booked this last minute and got a great deal. The hotel has been refurbished and is modern and in a quiet (for Japan) location. Free coffee and green tea in the lobby (24hrs). Restaurant is extra but didn't eat there. The rooms are more spacious than some Japanese "double" rooms. The bathroom isn't a moulded thing, it's real! Staff... More

The good: decent location, clean, quiet, adequate check in/out staff. The bad: (1) rooms are tiny. Given the price per night, I expected something more. (2) Elevators: there are two and, in the morning and evening, nearly impossible to get on. They were always full. Going up or down, the elevator ALWAYS stopped on the second floor, where reception was... More

We stayed in Hotel Mystays in Kyoto for one night. The hotel is in a good location- a 10-15 minute walk and you are in Takashimaya Kyoto and a 5-10 minute walk you are in Daimaru Kyoto. The hotel also has a few convenience stores across the street so no need to worry when you need to buy or get... More

The hotel is not well known to taxi drivers. Make sure you have the address or you may have trouble going back. Good hotel. We stayed in a double king size and a twin beds. I strongly recommend the twin beds you get a bigger room with more breathing space. The double king size is actually very cramped and the... More

Basic, clean, staff was polite, subway 5 min walk away. Small rooms (but it is Japan), few items in room such as humidifier, not needed unless summer humid days and trouser press useless for overseas tourist but must be necessity for business traveller? No family or interconnecting rooms so two rooms were needed for family of four. Kids 8 &... More

Firstly we chose this hotel because previous reviews had said it was convenient for the station. It is far too far to walk to the station especially with cases. The lobby is on the second floor and the two lifts provided are totally inadequate, especially around checking out time in the morning. One time at least four lifts went up... More

The Hotel Mystays is about 2kms from Gion / Kamogawa River. It's a nice walk or within the minimum taxi flag fall. The room and bathroom are of quite good size which was good as we were staying for three nights. Reception is located on level 2 and has a large lounge area with wifi. Wifi to all rooms was... More

We stayed four nights at this hotel and were very happy with it. On arrival we were shown to a double room but as is common in Japan, the bed was hard against the wall & the room was small, so we requested a change of room to two singles. The room we got on the lower floor was much larger,... More

Hotel room was very clean if a liitle small and with very little storage space. Memory foam mattress was comfortable but a bit hot for me and the pillows weren't very comfortable. No iron in room but one available at reception. Supermarket close by as well as restaurants and coffee shop. Staff very nice although there wasn't a lot of... More
