Unfortunately a nice few nights were spoilt by too many mishaps towards the end of the stay. In spite of having booked a room with breakfast included, we were charged extra for it. Would not accept our Visa card for payment despite having booked with the card and insisted we walk 20 minutes out of our way to withdraw the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and it is just across the Imperial Palace. Hotel staffs are nice and speak English. Hotel is clean and small just like most hotels in Japan. Wi-fi is available throughout the hotel. It is a 10 to 12 minutes walk to the nearest train station Marutamachi which is 5 km from the city center.... More

Stayed here for a meeting. The room was very clean, and large compared to our hotel in Tokyo. Bathroom was small but adequate with good amenities except hair dryer. Shower water pressure was amazing! breakfast was very good, both western and Japanese. The staff was very helpful with excellent service. We were originally given a smoking room by mistake and... This hotel is nicer and has bigger rooms than average Japanese hotels. The lobby area is painfully outdated though. I like to stay here when I'm going to KBS hall because its a nice hotel and directly next to KBS hall. This is my favorite Kyoto hotel but I usually can't book it because if there is an event at... We recently stayed two nights in Kyoto. I found a great deal on Agoda.com for Kyoto Garden Palace Hotel. The hotel is 10 minutes from the Marutamachi Station and directly up Karasuma Street. While the hotel is outside of Central Kyoto, our number one must see tour was the Imperial Palace. GP is located just outside the gates of the... More

My experience with this hotel is limited to a one night stay in October 2012, but the experience was ok. Most hotels in Kyoto were fully booked this night so this hotel was in a different location than the ones I am used to. The location is beautiful right next to the imperial palace, but being about half way up... More

Nice hotel, very good location near the Imperial Palace. Very clean (as usual in Japan) and cosy. Price/quality = good deal. Possibility to rent bikes for the day. Very convenient way to discover the city! Would totally recommend it!

30 years ago there was a new hotel in central Kyoto. Nothing was done, so now we have a clean, ugly hotel. Rooms r usual small Japanese size, bathroom are guinness record small size. Pictures on internet do not give real opinion about hotel, it looks bigger and.more nice, real is different. We jumped breakfast and moved after one night... More

Clean and convenient. Small rooms, like everywhere else in Japan. Within walking distance of several UNESCO world heritage sites. I visited just before the blossoms started to explode, but I can imagine that late Spring or early Fall would be off the charts. Lots of places to eat near by. Great service.

would not recommend this one. it was comparatively expensive for what is was. everything seemed pretty much 50ies style and not modernised since then.
