This is a very a nautical style hotel. Space and comfort are good. And near Sannomiya have very many delicious restaurants Many stores are open until the wee hours. Traffic is also very convenient. The price is very reasonable.

About 5-10 minutes walk from Sannomiya Station and airport bus stop makes this an ideal location. The surrounding streets teem with restaurants and activity. The single room and bathroom were small, but adequate for my purpose in visiting Kobe. The Danish nautical feel was interesting and a little unusual in a Japanese city. The staff at reception were helpful in minding my... More

The room looks small but cute with wood furnitures. Toilet not clean, light not enough, make me feel bad when use it. The kettle inside is not clean I can not use it to boil water. The reception can speak English but not well.

We booked three nights for double room. However the room appeared as smaller than the picture on the booking web, there were just enough space to open a suite case, a bit disappointed. Service was standard, staffs at breakfast were friendly. Not much choice for continental breakfast but had good coffee. Staffs at reception gave me rather dull and cold... More

I stayed in this hotel on my last trip to Japan. It is located in the downtown of Kobe, but would take around 10 minutes walk from Sannomiya station. Better to stay on ground level instead of walking on underground malls to avoid getting lost. You will pass through a bustling nightlife area on the way to the hotel. Some... More

I have been staying here during December for 3 nights, the rooms are spacious and bright, furniture is real wood and the bathroom is also very big with real tiles, separate shower-room and bathtub. (NOT an ugly capsule as seen so often in Japan) Breakfast is great too but for the 3 days we stayed it was repetitive so I... More

This hotel is definitely better on paper that in real life. It tries to be grand but fails. It is reasonable and a bit eccentric (a nautical theme seems to prevail) but never quite hits the mark. The gardens are really on up to much. However there is a very nice shrine area opposite the hotel. On the plus side,... More

Amalie is a wonderful oasis in heart of the commercial district (Sannomiyo) of Kobe. It overlooks the grounds of the Ikuta shrine. It has a quirky decor, but the rooms are clean and simple and have the basic amenities. With a great breakfast and quick access to the Sannomiyo Station, the hotel Amalie made my stay in Kobe pleasant and... More

I stayed at the last day of the month which gives me special rate for single room - 5000 yen, very very cheap for a hotel this nice. The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at the hotel is the design of the hotel which has a very strong nautical theme to it. Kinda weird but nice at the... More
