I've stayed at the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel many times. It's one of my favorites in the Kansai area. The rooms are spacious, and so are the balconies. I really enjoyed riding the windowed elevators, which allows people to watch their accent or decent. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and some speak English too. The hotel offers... More

I will start with the location. It's not near any subway, train, or any other public transport except the city bus. Even the city bus drops you off a bit far from the entrance of the hotel. It's a good 5 minute walk from the bus stop. To the subway, 15 minutes at least. There are no nearby stores. The... More

Located on the harbour at Kobe a 12-15 min walk to the city area. The hotel has a nice somewhere on the upper floors which is a nice way to end a evening. The service was professional. The room has a balcony which was a great way to enjoy the ocean feel in the morning.

The hotel is located on the water, so it's a little far from the nearest station (15-20 mins walk), convenience store etc., but that does make it fairly quiet - except for when the ships are blowing their horns. The reception can get very busy (esp. around 3 p.m.) so, it does take a little time to check in ...... More

The view from this property is stunning. My room not only had a wonderful view of the Kobe harbor and port, but also had a massive balcony to overlook all of the port's activities. My room itself was quite large and spacious (even for American standards) and I'm liking where most hotels are going in terms of becoming more eco-friendly... More

First of all, location tells almost everything. It is little far from the downtown and limited options of bars and shops around hotel. However, the hotel provides the best view of harbor as the hotel faces ocean directly. Staffs are very hospitable and nimble. Room is little bit aged but not a big deal, still good and clean. I would... More

I stayed with the family (with two pre-school kids) nd we had a very enjoyable time. We were given a corner room, which gave us a extra large balcony and the view was really amazing. From our balcony, we could see Harborland, Port of Kobe Tower, the city skyline with the mountains in the backdrop. The service was good. When... More

I stayed at the Hotel Oriental Merikan Park for one night in November 2015. Room was large and with balcony. As it is located at the edge of Merikan park you have to walk for a while to get to the next convenience store. That was a minus in my point of view. Free wifi worked well. Bathroom with tube.

The hotel features roomy suits with balconies. The view on the harbour and on the the city is indeed relaxing. A free shuttle bus takes you to city center every 20 minutes or so. The staff is very helpful and always on the look out for what you might need (sometimes even weirdly so ;> ) There are some very... More

I stayed at the Meriken Park Oriental for 2 nights in November 2015, while in town for the Kobe Marathon. The Oriental is a bit on an institution in Kobe, and is very visible standing as it does out in the harbour. Originally set up in the pre-quake days to service the cruise industry (there is still a huge ferry... More
