Recently stayed here for several nights. All in all, very pleased with our choice. There were some drawbacks, however. Location/Setting/Convenience -- The Crowne Plaza juts out dramatically out of the foothills of the Rokko Mountain. It's like 40 stories high and it literally stands out as the landmark building in the Shin-Kobe section of town. The Shin-Kobe area is set... more

Situated at the Shin-Kobe train and subway station, this hotel is in the best location for getting around Kobe. The views from the room are terrific, and the service is outstanding. The only faults with this hotel are that the beds are not up to Crowne Plaza standards and the a/c is very weak. The hotel has 5 restaurants, but... more

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. Stayed at the club level, worth the extra few dollars. Staff was the most polite at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Location and view is the best. There is a gondola ride up the mountain right behind the hotel that leads to a beautiful garden. Subway station under the... more

Located next to the Shinkansen station - this hotel, recently taken over from an Oriental Mandarin, was solid value for the $106/night, which was booked in advance. When we checked later, room were double the price! The room was small, but the beds were comfortable, good linens and pillows - although the bed was close the ground (as all beds... more

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and pleasantly designed, the soundproofing good, the morning newspapers hung on the door pleasant, the airconditioning wonderfully silent, but I could barely sleep from the stuffy air and feeling claustrophobic as this is one of those stupidly designed modern buildings where the windows are completely sealed with not even a small place that can be... more

I was there in February during our Chinese New Year holidays. It was cold but I was told that this is the first winter in 150 years without snow in Kobe. Temperature was hovering more than 5 degree celcius. So much about global warning. The hotel lobby was clean, big and empty. I was there before 10am and they refused... more

We only stayed one night in this hotel during our Kobe visit, but it's considered one of the best we've stayed in Japan. It's next to Shin-Kobe Shinkansen station, close to subway, shops and restaurants. Hotel was extremely clean, provided free in-room Internet Access, slippers and even 100% cotton pyjamas. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheet. A+++ more

Stayed 1 night - 2 adults & 1 Child. Hotel is next to Shin-Kobe Shinkansen station, connected by a short walkway/bridge. Room - large, one of the largest I have seen in Japan. Bathroom consisted of full bath/shower and toilet, the sink was outside the bathroom in an area separated from the bedroom by a 6 foot tall divider. Platinum... more

Centrally located, nice and clean hotel only steps from Shinkansen station. I have stayed there several times over the past years, and it can be highly recommended. The only problem I have found, is the room temperature, which can be too warm with no possibility to open the window or adjust the a/c sufficiently low. Good casual restaurant. more

Stayed here back in 1998, smart and clean although no-one spoke English, and I speak no Japanese it was not a problem for money exchange and car hire. Hotel is said to be earthquake proof so that is reassuring, room itself was good although a little cramped, I think that they put all non japanese people on one floor, 37th.... more
