My husbsnd and I stayed here during our honeymoon for 2 reasons. It was right next to the pier and it boasted a good restaurant. The room was nothing spectacular. The Japanese komod was fascinating and changes all lives it touches! The view from the room was nice though. The restaurant was excellent. We were served yummy kobe beef and... More

There is a reason to stay at the tallest, pretty grim visually architectural box around! Basically when it is on the waterfront and it it is tall enough to see for miles and miles. The harbor views even half way up are wonderful, and the fact that new commercial / eating / entertainment area of Harborside is 5 minutes walk... More

I've stayed here several times and always found the hotel to deliver everything you would want during a business trip. Location is ideal in the heart of the city and only a short walk from Kobe station. The earthquake memorial just outside the hotel on the harbour is really interesting. Recommend.

You made our first trip to Japan a truly memorable and wonderful experience! Okura provides a great view of the Kobe Harbor. What’s more wonderful is that our room has a perfect view of the Port Tower! The room was clean, and, of course, the hotel staff were polite. We were out almost the entire day for the tours and... Myself, husband and four year old son enjoyed our first trip - and first hotel in Kobe. The staff were friendly, helpful and very professional throughout our six night stay. This hotel was a great choice for location with the efficient and regular free bus shuttle to the local train station. The room was immaculate and the complimentary bath products... More

This hotel is in a great location, next to the harbour but only 10 minutes leisurely walk to Chinatown, Mosaic and Harborland. It is just in front of Meriken Park and Kobe Tower. They provide frequent free shuttle bus from Sannomiya Station to hotel and return every 20 minutes. To get to the bus, go to the bus terminal bus... More

A nice hotel with helpful friendly staff. The rooms are nice, medium in size with ample desk space for computer work with free WI-FI in room. We had a nice breakfast buffet. My room overlooked the wharf. Some of the folks took a walk along the wharf and said they could see cracks in the concrete from the big earthquake... More

Gorgeous hotel with large room (especially for Japan) Awesome breakfast buffet with large selection of American & Japanese foods. (try the French toast) Beautiful views of the harbor or the city/mountains from every room. They have a free shuttle from the train station. Go to exit 3 then to Platform 8.

There is shuttle bus service to Sannomiya station and JR Kobe station to the hotel, Merikan park oriental hotel. The bus ride only takes 5 to 10 minutes. Had an opportunity to stay in this hotel as part of a technical conference that was organized here. The hotel is located very close to city center and has good shuttle buses that operate every 20 minutes, so its very easy to commute, The rooms that I stayed in were pleasantly very large (much more than I would ever want)....
