Some of the front desk staff did not speak much English, but were always willing to work with us to understand our needs and questions, or find another staff member who could translate. The New Otani hotel, when I first stayed there in 1997 was (or seemed) quite 'new'. Now however I prefer to call it the 'not so new' Otani.
