Very nice place in the heart of hiroshima town. We enjoied the warm welcome, the complimentary tea and coffee and the traditional japanese bed! It's absolutely confortable! We suggest to rent the bikes directly at the ryokan and explore the town riding. Despite the owner doesn't speak english at all, we understood each other perfectly! She's helpful and very friendly.

This is right near the river and it was lovely to go for a walk around at night. The area is well positioned and close to the War Memorial and city. It is really easy to get to by tram as well. The owner is very friendly and gave us free tickets to a show when we arrived. The whole... More

Well located and clean, this place offers a good place to sleep. However rooms are really small, stairs are really steep (careful if you have big bags) and it's not cheap for what you get. Going back would not be a no brainer for me, but wouldn't exclude it either.

Ryokan Sansui is not luxury, but it is a very adequate ryokan-style lodging in Hiroshima. It is right by a streetcar line and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Rooms are tatami, very comfortable and clean. Bedding is Japanese-style roll-out futon. Toilet and shower facilities are communal, but we never had to wait to use them, and they are... More

Alright we stayed for 2 nights. We were checked in briskly and then never saw the owners again. 1 bathroom made life a bit difficult and the door chime going off was a bit of a pain in the bum but for 8500 a night it wasn't too bad. Japanese style futons were pretty good(lived on one less comfortable for... More

Just outside center of town, within walking distance of peacepark and downtown. Bicycles for hire. Very friendly owner. Good breakfast, choice between western and japanese. We got free tickets for a kagura show.

We stayed 3 nights at Ryokan Sansui. The owner is so nice and friendly! When we arrived, she provided maps and recommendations and directions to all the main sites. She takes pictures of every guest and the photos cover the walls in the hallway. The hotel feels like home. A great place to try a traditional ryokan at a reasonable... More

This is a very homely, cosy place to stay. The owner is genuinely sweet and keen that you enjoy your stay. She is so unobtrusive too so that you feel as if it is your own home. The futons on tatami mats were very comfortable and the rooms and duvets were cosy on a cool night. It was lovely after... More

This is a great little place for a short stay. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The location is great, we walked to all the main sights and the bus stop is on the corner so easy access to transport. The room is tiny so be prepared for that. Shared facilities were really clean and there was no waiting.... More

If you are looking for genuine Japanese hospitality and simple no frills accommodations, this is the place for you. You sleep on futons on grass mats and share bathrooms and showers. The rooms have flat screen tvs and climate controls. Your host is sweet and enjoys helping her guests. She is ready to explain how to get around Hiroshima and... More
