We stayed at Sansui Ryokan in February 2015. The owner is really welcoming and despite only speaking about 30 words of English she still managed to give us a quick guide to the tourist spots and recommend somewhere to eat that night (Ichiriki Okonomiyaki - fantastic!). The Japanese-style room was really comfy. We also booked in for the tea ceremony... More

Stayed here for two nights with a couple of other friends. The owner is a lovely lady who could not do enough for you. She spoke limited English but we managed to communicate what we had to. She takes the photo of all of her guests and puts them up on the wall in the hallway. Rooms were lovely and... More

This ryokan is cosy and clean and in a peaceful neighbourhood. We booked the tea ceremony and kimono fitting as well. I don't know whether the other guests were very quiet or not, but we could hear hardly anything from the other rooms even though it didn't feel like a really sound-proof accommodity. Since there's only one shower (downstairs), it... More

Ryokan Sansui was my first stay in a Ryokan. I very much enjoyed it. The ryokan was quite comfortable, clean and quiet. The host is very lovely as well. Ryokan Sansui is well located, just minutes from the nearest streetcar that goes near the Atomic bombing site and to the train station. Note that the ryokan is also walking distance... More

We spent two nights at Ryokan Sansui, a very traditional place in the heart of Hiroshima. The welcome was very friendly and, although it was our first stay at a ryokan, we managed to sleep well. Thank you very much.

Very nice place in the heart of hiroshima town. We enjoied the warm welcome, the complimentary tea and coffee and the traditional japanese bed! It's absolutely confortable! We suggest to rent the bikes directly at the ryokan and explore the town riding. Despite the owner doesn't speak english at all, we understood each other perfectly! She's helpful and very friendly.

This is right near the river and it was lovely to go for a walk around at night. The area is well positioned and close to the War Memorial and city. It is really easy to get to by tram as well. The owner is very friendly and gave us free tickets to a show when we arrived. The whole... More

Well located and clean, this place offers a good place to sleep. However rooms are really small, stairs are really steep (careful if you have big bags) and it's not cheap for what you get. Going back would not be a no brainer for me, but wouldn't exclude it either.

Ryokan Sansui is not luxury, but it is a very adequate ryokan-style lodging in Hiroshima. It is right by a streetcar line and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Rooms are tatami, very comfortable and clean. Bedding is Japanese-style roll-out futon. Toilet and shower facilities are communal, but we never had to wait to use them, and they are... More

Alright we stayed for 2 nights. We were checked in briskly and then never saw the owners again. 1 bathroom made life a bit difficult and the door chime going off was a bit of a pain in the bum but for 8500 a night it wasn't too bad. Japanese style futons were pretty good(lived on one less comfortable for... More
