We spent 3 nights in J-hoppers while visiting the fantastic city of Hiroshima. After spending a lot of our time in dorms in other hostels we spent a little extra here to get a double private room. Our room was on the 4th floor, a Japanese style Tatami room. So essentially a Futon on the floor. It was a reasonable... More

I was very pleased with this hostel. As an independent traveller, I felt safe and comfortable here. The staff were also very helpful with directing me to places I should see and foods I should eat. Speaking of foods, there is a small restaurant down the street from the hostel that makes Hiroshima's famous savory noodle pancake called Okonomiyaki. Do... More

This accommodation came highly recommended by friends of ours and although we were quite satisfied there are improvements that could be made. The staff were excellent - top top notch from the reservation process through to arriving late for check-in and leaving early. The price was excellent for both the double and triple rooms. The building itself is just a... More

Clean place but not worth the cost. My husband and I booked a private room for $50 plus parking $8. We still shared a bathroom. It was a tiny box with only enough room for the fold out Japanese style futons and a little lamp. It was across from the communal bathroom area and the walls are so thin we... More

Convenient location, staffs are sweet and friendly. Entire facility is kept very clean. Great place for anyone who is looking for a low cost / high value accommodation. It even had a vending machine with Japanese beer ;-)

Stayed two nights with our two kids (6 and 8) and we're very pleased with the atmosphere, staff, location. Kitchen downstairs was so well equipped, very impressive! Our room was clean and quiet. Bathrooms shared but never any queues or questionable standards of cleanliness. All very very good and fantastic value for what we paid! Thanks!!!

I have the benefit of staying not only in the Hiroshima branch but also at J Hoppers Osaka and J Hoppers Kyoto. Overall: 1. Everything good you read about them are true 2. Unbeatable value for money and decent location 3. It's not perfect, nothing is, not even 5 stars hotel but it's damn good. I managed to get a... More

We hadn't stayed in a hostel before but wanted to stay in budget accommodation for 3 nights while in Hiroshima. J Hoppers was a great place to stay! Close to Dobachi tram station or a lovely walk through the peace memorial park to get to the main shopping area (Hondori St). We stayed in a private room which was very... More

The hostel is in a very good location, and only a short tram ride to all major attractions as well as Hiroshima Station. The staff were very nice and spoke good English. For the one night that we stayed, the room was relatively good. A little bit small with little areas for storage, but good enough for sleeping. The walls... More

Stayed for three nights around Xmas time with a friend in a private room. I had stayed in another J-Hoppers (Kyoto) a few years ago and I'd say they are similar in terms of service. Staff were polite and gave us some tips about what to do in the area, plenty of maps and other detailed tourist stuff on the... More
