I concur with most of the reviews I've read, and the hotel is definitely overpriced for what it delivers. Our positive initial impression based on the foyer / lobby was quickly brought back to realization when we were shown our room, which (with 2 single beds) didn't even allow sufficient room to roll a suitcase between the bed and the... more

I've stayed in the Rihga Hiroshima many times. This time I am finally giving up and will find another hotel for my next trip. While the little single rooms were nicely furnished and seemed to be more recently updated, the the twins and double rooms were just shabby. Dirty carpets, old worn bedspread, and obviously the mattresses were quite old.... more

Absolutely agree with the previous review. As you walk into the hotel, it feels very grand, 5-star hotel. However, accomodations are nothing special. The carpet was dirty looking, bathroom felt "used up", which for veyr clean Japan is unusual. To use a pool, they charge 31,000 yen...staying at the hotel and paying for it, charging additional money to use the... more

Upon entry to the foyer, you feel this is a very grand hotel but actually does not live up to expectations. The room did smell of smoke - I don't think people respect the no smoking signs. The room was a reaonable size but not big and the carpet looked dirty so I made use of the slippers. Internet access... more

This hotel is very conveniently located in central Hiroshima, but is quite dated. We stayed in a small room that had not been renovated in years. Service was very nice, much nicer than the room. That said, the room was clean and reasonably priced. more

Being a well-respected chain of hotels in Japan, the service here was as good as I'd expect. The staff were courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We had a room high up, which was a corner room - great views all round. It's close to the castle and prefectural art gallery, and very close, too, to the peace park... more

We stayed at the Righa Royal in Hiroshima for 3 nights. The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes from the Peace Memorial Park, the trams and shops and restaurants. We were really lucky as we were given a corner room that had views to the side and front (make sure you ask for a room overlooking the castle).... more

Not exactly "royal." The Ramada we stayed in Osaka was nicer and cheaper. Still, this place is adequate and if you can find a cheap rate it's of good value - if you're paying full price here, though, you're not getting good value at all. more

As with other reviews, the location of the hotel is perfect for the peace park, stadium and castle. Views of the city are excellent. The staff are very capable of handling english speaking clients like ourselves. However, the hotel itself does not live up to it's 5 star rating or the prices charged. The room fitout although clean, is now... more

The Rihga Royal Hotel is the tallest building in Hiroshima so it's pretty easy to spot. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's a 5 minute walk from the A-Bomb dome and the peace park is just a minute or two beyond that. Hiroshima castle is right across the street. If you're into baseball, the Hiroshima Carp baseball stadium... more
