We had two nights in Hiroshima and wanted a convenient Ryokan. Well this certainly was that. Very close to transport and good food and escpecially to the Peace Park which was the reason we were in town. We arrived on New Years Day and dropped our bags before heading off to Miyajima Island. Upon arriving back to the Ryokan we... More

It can be hard to find a ryokan close to a city center, but this one is very clean and conveniently located. The bedding is comfortable, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was also quite large.

Chizuru Ryokan is more of a flophouse than true Japanese ryokan. However, it is very comfortable, clean, well located, and easy to find. Our room was actually very large and plain. Best way to get there from Hiroshima Station is the take the #1tram (160 yen), to stop Fukuro-machi, and at the pedestrian overpass, take the street just before it... More

We stayed here for one night in November 2013. The owner was very nice and helpful. I mistakedly booked the wrong night (we arrived a night early), however the owner arranged another room and fixed up the booking without any fuss! This was our first Ryokan experience and based on our time at Chizuru we will definitely do it again.... More

Chizuru is right in the city center. The Peace park is a 5 min walk away, and all you need of shopping and dining is just outside the door. We stayed in a huge triple room with futons on the second floor. It didn't have a private bathroom or even a sink. The toilet was down the hall and bathroom... More

The small building looks slightly out of place amongst the high-rises of Hiroshima. The owner is nice and friendly and speaks good English. As usual with Japanese-style accommodation, you can hear the conversations of people from next door and above/below you.

I stayed with my dad in a little tatami-floored room with futons and shared bathroom facilities. Room was clean and futons were comfortable. Meals not included. Yukatas and towels are provided. Booked it as a budget option and as such it didn't disappoint, I would recommend it if that's what you're after. Note that although it's called a ryokan, if... More

Perfect place to stay in Hiroshima, Chizuru is clean, budget friendly and in just about the best location possible. In between the main tourist attractions and the entertainment/restaurant area so perfect for a quick visit. The inn is down a side street and there are some nice little izakaya's very close, it's worth visiting Anderson department store a few mins... More

We stayed here for two nights in February 2013 as a base to see Hiroshima and Miyajima. We were immediately welcomed by being taken to our room and treated to green tea and leaflets of all the nearby attractions (including a map for a Miyajima, which was a nice touch). We had booked a twin room and were absolutely astonished... More

We stayed at Chizuru Ryokan for one night in mid July 2013. I had read the few reviews of this ryokan on TripAdvisor prior to booking - so I had some high expectations. I was aware that the ryokan would be simple (in terms of furnishings, no meals etc), which is in fact the case. Chizuru is in the perfect... More
