This is a very good value hotel with reasonably good location. The only point to note is that one room can only sleep 2. A family with kids will need more than 1 room. The hotel building is quaint and has character.

Hotel Monterey Sapporo does not quite feel like your standard hotel. From the tiled indoor courtyard and glass atrium to the old-style elevator (and equally ancient telephone in the corridor), this hotel speaks with an old-world charm that you won't find in many other hotels anywhere. The location of this hotel is fantastic - only a short walk from JR... More

Not an extremely modern hotel, it has a older charm of its own. Handily located a few minutes' walk from the main train station, you can even walk most of the way via the subway tunnels - useful in bad weather.

Enjoyed our stay at Hotel Monterey between 8th -11th Feb 2014.The location was convenient to Sapporo Train Station. The front service desk was excellent especially in assisting with any issues that we had even if they were not directly related to the Hotel. The room was facing the internal courtyard making it quiet. The overall cleaniness of the room was... More

I love this hotel. It was cheap and very close to JR Sapporo Station. It only takes 5 minutes to walk. Especially in the snow. Or pay 650yen for a taxi ride from the Station. Clean room. Comfortable. I will stay again if I go back to Sapporo.

The hotel certainly looked the part as we approached it from Sapporo station. Once inside, the rooms were very spacious & clean, especially for the price we paid (we were in a corner room on the 7th floor). The services within the hotel were minimal, no real lounge or bar area, just an indoor garden area which wasn't really being... More

Delightful surprise! Go for the larger deluxe rooms, cost a little more but full of character and the extra room is a plus. They also come with a second toilet which is very handy. The hotel is easy walking distance to the JR station. Note that next to nothing is in English so good luck understanding what's on the hotel... More

Tiny hotel, small room and great for its value. Not far from Sapporo station. Most of staff did their best to support my request. The bed is very soft but there were sounds from other rooms. Very quiet inside hotel hall.

This is my 3rd time that I've stayed in the Hotel Monterey chain. The decors are wonderful. However, there seemed to be a lack of cafe for guests to enjoy the decor over a cup of coffee, such as the one in Kyoto. In-room wireless wifi is a common feature among hotels these days but this is not available in... More

The front desk's staff service is fair. We are smoker, and we want to have a smoking room, but the staff said that i book a non smoking room and there is full today and no rooms can change. I stay three nights and the staff does not suggest we can change the room the day after. And seems i... More
